Reports from Leicester end seem to indicate their owner/chairman has died in the crash. Very sad day for football again if true, not only will his death leave a shadow on the club for many moons but the impact it could have on the club for the season and beyond could be crippling.

Today we stand as a group again, football is one big family.

A report in The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/oct/27/leicester-city-owners-helicopter-crash-car-park

It details the crash, says it is not known if Srivaddhanaprabha was on board, continues with some biographical details and ends with,
"Leicester earned a point when Wilfred Ndidi’s deflected strike in the 89th minute cancelled out Fabián Balbuena’s goal for West Ham".

Bizarre; what was that Shankley said about football being more important than life or death?

These tragic events put other things into perspective.

I know Shankly's famous quote and totally disagree with it.

Another Liverpool manager (Dalgleish) was nearer the mark at Hillsborough when he said "Football is irrelevant now."

All condolences to the club, relatives of the bereaved and good wishes to anyone injured or affected in any way.

Terrible news.

Shankley's quote was ironic btw, listened to an interview of a bloke who was there a couple of years ago. He was satirising journos who were making out football was more important than it was. Thing is with quotes is that they can be taken out of context, plus you can't hear the person's voice when they say them.
