When I started watching Derby regularly from 84, I was a fiercely loyal kid to all our players. But there were only a few players that I couldn’t see the point of: Steve Cross, Graham Harbey and then Nick Pickering. Oh, and then John Harkes. And then I got old and cynical and the list is too long ? I blame Jossie after he ducked on the line at Wembley. I still don’t understand it. Oh, and then John Harkes shanked it wide. Life was the never the same again!

Maybe he’ll get a game v Spain Southgate is forced into a couple of changes through suspension's of Stones and Henderson but I wouldn't hold my breath. He's proving a bit "Snakey"-like in that he talks up all the youth then sticks to his knitting. It is just possible I suppose that he was targeting Croatia as the more winnable fixture and gives the team a free hit v Spain but deep down I expect to see dier, kane, sterling et al starting on Tuesday. Wasn't at all impressed by Southgates apprach and game management of the Croatia game. Really quite dull and unadventurous.
Edtheram
Im happy that Mason is in the England team - Im also kind of happy that hes had a rest from competitive football for a week or so. However, it does annoy me that pundits and coaches are over looking Mount for Sancho? Why is Sancho spoke about like a god and Mason not even given a mention? Mason has done wonders at Vitesse and Derby (so far) - just look at his record against Sancho's and you'll see that he should be the one who being given an ego boost..... Firstly, Mount and Sancho play in different positions. Secondly, Sancho is doing it in a much better team , league etc in front of 80,000 people at Dortmund and playing champions league football, whilst being a better player than Mount currently is. Whilst Mount is talented, Sancho is a lot further ahead in his development than Mount is. Mount will get his chance soon though.

Sancho is doing his business at Elite level in the Champions league. Most of the country won't even know who Mount is and it's only us getting to see him week in week out. Gaspode
Suggestions are that Winks will start in place of the suspended Henderson against Spain - I guess Mason will have to be patient and come on later in the game to rescue us.....
