United's squad for tonight revealed:
Goalkeepers: Sergio Romero, Lee Grant.

Defenders: Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling, Diogo Dalot, Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Matteo Darmian.

Midfielders: Ander Herrera, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira, Fred, Marouane Fellaini, Scott McTominay.

Forwards: Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez.

Could be an awfully long night for Keogh and Tomori...

Should we believe the Manchester Evenning News or is it a bluff? I'd be interested in seeing their track record on these stories. The squad list is based on which players were seen turning up at the Lowry Hotel (where Jose lives and where I suggested staying if going up for the match!). Maybe Pogba snuck in the side entrance?

You would expect United would play the fringe players. They have a big week coming up with games at West Ham then Valencia in the CL at home (probably their most important game in terms of qualification chances) then Newcastle United at home before the next international break.

The League Cup is the least important trophy to win, and gives them a chance to rest key players while also bringing others into form.

Alexis Sanchez has scored just 3 goals in 29 games for United. He and Rashford or Martial will surely start upfront.

Romero will probably play as he needs minutes. Juan Mata and Fellaini too.

They should have a good enough team out to beat Championship opponents at home, and we’ll probably make changes too.

Man U will play a strong team. No way is Jose going to want to lose to Frank, He'll be wanting to set an example. He's gonna sit Microphone head on Mount all game and it will be down to us to try grab something on the break Imo. Everyone will expect us to lose so let's have a go and put pressure on them from the start. The longer it stays 0-0 the more it suits us.

Agreed (although it's a three-horse race, to be precise!).

Those kind of insulting odds cannot go unchallenged. It is my duty as a Ram to take that price.

I felt the same way! Foolishly encouraged by successully betting on us against Brentford. In terms of three-horse races, most are offering 5/1 on the draw and a penalty shootout (no extra time).

Right, that's it. Leaving work early. Let's get smashhhhhed. By which I mean: let's get on a tram with the common unwashed, drive home in traffic, then go round the father-in-law's to watch the game with two Leicester fans. If Carlsberg did match days, they certainly wouldn't be mine. Hopefully a win to make it alright.
