cannable
What’s happened to him?! He’s played that role before and was always a super effective screen but he’s taking it a step further now. He’s turning away from defenders, he’s playing it through the lines, he’s spraying it in behind! He’s running the show, his last two games have been the most complete performances since 13/14 George. They did used to call him The Norfolk Pirlo!
EnigmaRam
That’s because Hudds isn’t playing. It’s always been left for Hudds to do with BJ being the battering ram. if you watch him closely he’s always been very good and positive in his play. It’s good to see some appreciation for him for once
Sexydadbod
He’s got Jordan Henderson syndrome. Everyone things he’s poo because he’s not fashionable but he’s actually good at what he does. He makes it awkward for opposition players. When we played Leeds, Saiz battered us but as soon as Johnson came on, Saiz became less effective because Johnson stayed tight and man marked him. It demonstrates his silent effectiveness. He may not be the best passer but he always passes it forwards and is positive. Last season it got to the stage where I thought that Hanson should play over Johnson. Now? He’s arguably one of our most important players. Ramarena
A much maligned player in recent season and to be fair his form has been very patchy. However he’s really starting to do well and could well make that position his own for the time being.

therealhantsram
It looks like we've just found our best midfield 3. It's taken a while for them to figure it all out... But after Tue and today, Huddlestone and Evans have a mountain to climb.
Waffle
Derby City. I’ve got to say although pleased with his performance today. I’m still not sold on the quality of his distribution. However I would have him in the team over Huddlestone

therealhantsram
Here's something else to ponder... Bryson, Johnson and Mount. As things stand, none of them will be here next season.
Derby blood
He has been excellent in the last 2 home matches, seems to me that the midfield 3 of Johnson,Bryson and Mount, are starting to get a great understanding between them, and what's also nice is Johnson starting to shut up some of them east stand boo boys, who know as much about football , as that fat twit down the road Kenny Burns. RamLad1884
Johnson tends to try alot more risky passes than Hudds, probably wouldn't work so well in a defensive setup, but with runners like Nuge and Bennett those long over the top/through balls are really starting to show some value. Even if one of those passes come off in five, chances are we'll score from them.
RadioactiveWaste
Johnson has always had a good understanding oof the game. If he had the technical ability he'd have had a top flight career. Love his passion and honesty. Yes the reverse oof many a championship pplayer who has a good touch but zero intelligence (football wise) Always liked him as a character, even when his touch and passing mmade me want him rendered for glue. Zag zig
Bradley Johnson is more than just a beast. I’ve long been a cheer leader when others were critical of his distribution, for me though he was being hung by a lack of movement previously. Give him options and players making runs, his overhit passes are suddenly no longer overhit but useful through balls; odd that eh. Add his obvious all round tackling ability and willingness to win every 50/50 he’s a fighting tank that does the dirty stuff we needed someone to. Ramage got it right though, he’s closer to the defence and neither him or the defence are as exposed by the gaps when the back 4 is playing higher up the pitch. All told, played in the right position and with skilful players making intelligent runs he’s showing more of his true self. Keep it up Brad lad
Millenniumram
Was excellent today as he has been in previous games. Still makes me a little nervous having him in the defensive mid role because his odd mistake makes him not quite suited but he’s certainly better than ledley in there for winning the ball back and distributing. One of the main reasons for the win today and long may that continue. I agree with others on the thread that I’ve always thought when he’s got a bit of confidence Johnson actually has more intelligence and awareness than we give him credit for, it’s just sometimes his technical ability that lets him down. He’s a real confidence player as well, when he’s been stuck in a rut he’s misplaced passes all over the show, but when he’s on form like he was today he’s a real midfield enforcer. Most touches of anyone in a derby shirt today including the centre backs, that shows his impact.
sonofmidnight
I've always liked Johnson but in previous seasons was very frustrated by his performance. It just seemed he couldn't reveal his true ability. It's great to see him out there playing so well. The coaching staff must also take credit for helping him regain his abilities and confidence. There is now plenty of movement in front of him, with five players making runs and giving viable options for a pass. That's not to diminish what Johnson is doing because some of his passing has been excellent, but it makes such a massive difference to the entire team when there's some attacking intent. As another example, look at Forsyth. Last season he would receive the ball, dither on it for 10 seconds before passing straight back to Keogh or Carson because everyone else was either 30 yards up the pitch or hiding behind an opposition player. Now he has Johnson and Wilson showing, with either Mount or Bryson dropping in to provide a 3rd option.
