Max Lowe Aberdeen loan updates

Recommended Posts

This is on now (on BBC Alba) if anyone is interested. Only just flicked it on, Aberdeen losing 1-0, just before half-time.

Max is probably looking on enviously at Jayden's very quick rise through the ranks. Before anyone else says it, of course he should be watching the ball.

Max Lowe played well for Aberdeen today, Sat 15th Sep 2018 in Perth, away at St Jonhstone. He improved throughout the game as Aberdeen did, and hugged the left touch line well and always wanted the ball, unfortunately Aberdeen opted to go down the right a lot, and when they eventually used Max Lowe more in the second half, they created more as Max linked up well with players and ran into spaces well, and when he was passed too, he played other players in well.

A couple of his long balls were slightly over hit, but when he won tackles he managed to turn ball very quickly in Aberdeen's favour, getting the team quickly into a attacking position. Max jockeyed well and closed down well, and played some quick defensive passes and got close to other Aberdeen defending players to force St Johnstone players into tight spots, enabling his team mates to tackle and to win the ball in Aberdeen's favour.

Max picked up a yellow card for a late tackle, where the ball had already gone passed, maybe too keen, his youth and decision making not mixing well on that occasion. Max made a couple of great runs to take players out the game, and one especially when McGinn opted not to put him through and then several minutes later, Max made a similar move into the box and McGinn's shot hit Max as he tried to jump over it. A few minutes later on the 86th minute Max made another great run with the ball into the box, and then fired it through, but unfortunately it became neither a shot or a cross and when the camera was fixed on Max a few seconds later, viewers could see his frustration as he said, what he thought of it.

Max Lowe again should be proud of his performance, as he made other cross balls that found Aberdeen players with space to create chances, and Aberdeen had a couple of good chances late in the game to win the match, a downward header and an extra time claim for a penalty. Max Lowe marks his man for the corner as Logan loses his as St Johnstone open the scoring to lead 1-0 after 13 minutes.

Hope he continues to do well up there. Will be exciting to see both Bogle and Lowe in the same team someday!

Bogle, Lowe, Bennett, Thomas, Elsnik (apparently not this season), Bird, there's a few decent young players coming tthrough.

Max Lowe played 61 mins before being replaced by McGinn at Easter Road as Aberdeen beat Hibernian on penalties in the quarter final of the Betfred Cup. As I was watching Man Utd v Derby County in the Caraboa Cup in the Commercial Inn with @Ramadonna9 on Sky Sports, we did manage to watch the first 15 minutes due to the 7:45pm kick off, and the first 15 minutes of the second half, and bits of the match when Man Utd were in possession, so not much!

Max attacked well, delivering good cross balls and won some tackles, but struggled to get back to defend, he stopped some cross balls coming in, but also missed some. As I only saw, just above half of his performance, difficult to comment on it, due to my eyes being focused on the mighty Rams performance at Old Trafford, but it appeared he was subbed off, so Aberdeen could press for a winner in normal time, even though the game ended 0-0 after extra time, before Aberdeen like Derby won their cup tie on penalties.

It was good to hear some "C'mon Derby" shouts from the locals in the pub as they huddled around the main BT Sport screen, as the Derby fans looked after 3 screens near the pool table. It seems to attract a few Liverpool fans does this pub and it was no suprise that they were happy to see Man Utd being shown how to play football.

Max enjoy playing Glasgow Rangers at Hampden at 12 o'clock on a Sunday in the semi finals before Celtic play Hearts also at Hampden after this game at 7:45pm. The power and money of TV strikes again.

More importantly hope Max enjoyed hearing the score coming through from Old Trafford!

And a big shout out to The Commercial Inn, Inverurie for making us Derby County fans feel so welcome and the free hot dogs at half time were cracking.

Well done Max.
