Coneheadjohn
I know it’s a ridiculous thread. When is it acceptable? Came in from work yesterday and it was on...end of August. On interview everyone went no comment? (I don’t really care,FYI).
Bigfella
My wife switched ours on yesterday too.

Can’t say I’m happy but it is warming up again soon so I think the end of September is acceptable.
PistoldPete2
Had the gas fire on in August, but never turned the central heating on. I think we've been a bit spoiled with the hotter weather , it does seem chilly the last few days.

Stagtime
Here in Brisbane I usually turn the heater on when it gets down to 20c.
JuanFloEvraTheCocu'sNesta
The missus has just now switched ours on. If it were up to me it would only go on when the temperature was in single digits. I am always too hot. On the flip side I took my missus to Mexico last year and she thought the beach was 'chilly' because of the breeze. It was 36 degrees.
McRainy
I changed to my winter duvet last night. No blankets as yet. I used to aim for half term before using the central heating, but it was usually a week or two before. Getting logs delivered next week, so will mainly rely on the stove now. David
Drives me nuts going round people’s houses with the heating on and they are sat wearing t shirts. Stick a jumper on, if it’s cold still, whack the heating on.

Can you specify cold in degrees centigrade mate? The definition of cold is hotly debated in our house. It’s alright for you southerners you can just put another pile of 20’s on the log burner. AndyinLiverpool
My good lady wife turned our heating on yesterday so I had to sit around in virtual sauna conditions. She claims to be an environmentalist too.
