Had a great game on Boxing Day against us at their place. Remember coming away  really impressed. Full trust in Frank if he wants to bring him in!

He did, it was a terrible game but he definitely stood out

Totally agree! Aina is 22 in October so needs regular football. Can’t help thinking that Lampard is viewing Wisdom more as a central defender.

Hope so after Keoghs performance last night ?

Torino interested in signing him permanently apparently. Would be surprised if we still got him.

Shame. Think full back is an area we need to strengthen.. Someone who can play RB or LB

Genuine question, are there any good fullbacks who can play on either side of the defence? We've been told many times on this forum that a centre half can't swap sides and he only has to move about ten yards to his left or right, not the entire width of the pitch.

It's true he did fill in and could do a job, but I wouldn't say he was at the same level on the left as he was on the right. More a case of shoehorning him in. If it's a player bought solely as cover that's fine but if we want to buy a starter I personally would prefer a specialist for each and every position.

Aina Wisdom Davies Bryan would be a very good back 4

So keep just the oldest one of a defence that kept 20 clean sheets last season and reduce our ability to effectively head the ball away down to wisdom and Davies - looks like a car crash to me

As car crash as passing the ball 5 yards to the opposing striker ?

Apart from it wasn’t just the back 4 last lesson it was a back 8

If you’re suggesting Forsyth over Bryan then I won’t bother.

As for the other side, Wisdom a more than capable RB but not great against pace. Keogh perhaps doesn’t have the passing ability for this new style. Makes sense to move Wisdom into the middle.

Like Lowe, Wisdom was overpowered by one of their players coming in on a header on the 6 yard box - this one wasn't scored, but the player basically leaned over Wisdom. Not a replacement for Keogh for me.

Anyone remember the beginning of last season and Pearce playing, and it was a revelation, we were praising his ability to play out from the back... then, his confidence went.... Rowett ? saying just boot it out wide ?  who knows, but the lad, when his head is right can play, so :- Aina,Davies,Pearce/Wisdom, Lowe,

Sorry Bambi(RK) but thats one too many rabbit in the headlights performances, sub bench for you.

I don’t get all the grief that keogh gets, yes he was poor on Friday night but not sure he was any worse than Davies.

Might just be me, but keogh is easily our best centre half playing out from the back. Davies was immense last season and deservedly got a new deal, I just can’t help but think he may be a problem over the course of the season if we are going to play out from the back.

Agreed. A big ask for CB’s to play out of the back under pressure and not give the ball away for the entire game.

We could spend 5m on a Cb and I don’t think we’d get much better then what we’ve got IMO.

All in all keogh we have two quality center backs in keogh and Davies for championship level and I really don’t see wisdom being the answer at center half.
