DCFC27 Posted August 1, 2018 Share Posted August 1, 2018 Other sides have a few individually good players good teams but we now seem to have really good players in every single position and at least one other player that is almost as good to push them for a starting place. For example striker; currently Nugent has the shirt however he has; Marriott Jerome Vydra Martin Bennett all competing for one place. Defensive mid - Ledley/Huddlestone/Evans/Thorne/Hanson Midfielders - Mount/Bryson/Johnson/Butterfield/Anya Wingers - Lawrence/Wilson/Thomas/Jozefzoon/ CB Davies/Keogh/Pearce RB Wisdom/Bogle LB Lowe/ Fozzy/ Olson GK Carson/Roos/Mitchell 31 players there... I’ve probably missed 1 or 2 and youngsters left out. You havat got 1 team there that should push for promotion and another that could be a strong mid table side... we really are blessed with one of the strongest squads at the moment. We do need to get rid of some as it could lead to unrest if players aren’t playing and good for the finances to get some out, but in terms of our standards this year we should be turning up every week and knowing that any 11 we put out is as good or better than any other team in our league. Impossible to keep everyone happy even oldies who just want to pick up a last pay check- Not sure if we have any of those but training for no purpose must be soul destroying. Stoke still probably have the best squad and starting 11 in the league by some distance. Hopefully Rowett's system means their talented players can't perform to their full ability Keepers - Butland, Federici and Haugaard Defenders - Bauer, Pieters, Tymon, Martins Indi, Shawcross and Cameron Midfielders - Allen, Ndiaye, Ince, Etebo, Choupo-Moting, McClean, Afellay, Adam, Imbula, Fletcher and Bojan Forwards - Adobe, Diouf, Berahino, Crouch, Campbell and Ngoy That squad for this level is a joke and the only player from that little lot who seems close to leaving is Ndiaye and there's just a little over a week left of the window Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We could do a lot worse than having Bradley Johnson as a back up. Who are we supposed to call and say “hey you’re a really good player in the championship, fancy trying to displace one of Chelsea’s best young talents?” Basically all we can sell to a player now is to push the first team, which I think the players we have and the under 23s we have are capable of doing at least until Jan. Not the best squad in the league, which is Stoke. They'd have to lose several players before they started to worry, and that's why they're the best ''squad'' because they have the depth that we don't have. A youngster would have plenty of squad rotation, it's very unlikely both of Bryson or Mount are going through all 46 games, plus any cup games, plus potential play offs.
