Still amusing though. Second best team in Scotland getting gazumped by a non-league side...

Did make me smile too!!! On a par with what's his face moving as a Manager from an SPL side to Bury and seeing it as a move up....

Shot themselves in the foot when they demoted Rangers through the leagues. While all the other teams were loving 2nd spot being more competitive it turned a two horse league into the annual Celtic celebration.

Celtic aside, there's not a massive amount of difference between Scottish football and Welsh or Irish, Perhaps they should think of a major rebranding and form a celtic league, something similar to what they have in rugby union.

Rangers didnt get demoted. They went into liquidation and ceased to exist. The new club taking their place had to apply for membership to the league and had to start of the bottom. It didnt suit Rangers, but every other club in Scotland benefited. Rules are rules and the SFA have to be applauded for taking that stance.

Its been more compeditive since it happened. Theres been different winners of the cups, season ticket sales are up, and the majority of the clubs are debt free (ironically apart from Rangers), and they dont rely on sugar daddies to keep them afloat.

Granted, the standard isnt fantastic, but its good old fashioned football where fans have a real affinity with their club.

I see its open season on Scotish football from the English media because Aberdeens 3rd choice striker, who is the clubs biggest earner, has gone to Salford on an even bigger wage. Its Salford who are the mugs, because he's been in decline for 2 seasons and doesnt fit the style of play anymore. Think Chris Martin.

Honestly, the amount of rubbish ive heard this week from people on radio and social media who's perception of Scotish football is watching the old firm derby is amazing.

The real story in this transfer is Salford and the willingness of English teams to pay silly money that lets face it, they shouldn't be able to afford,  not the standard of Scotish football.

Why is McInnes so upset about losing him if that’s the case?

Absolute tosh how did the teams in the Scottish Premiership benefit from losing gate revenues by not playing Rangers a minimum of 3 times in a season given that Rangers are with Celtic by far and away the best supported teams in the entire league.

Maybe those in the lower leagues benefited?

You are right maybe those in the Scottish PL didnt, i dont know. Everything else in his post is right though. You cant make an exception just because its rangers. Didnt something similar happen with Livingston?

Agreed it was just a unilaterally sweeping statement saying that everyone benefitted from Rangers demise.

I suppose the same would be said if similar happened to Man Utd, would be bad for the PL. But blood funny though.

He has played a lot of games in the past couple of seasons for a third choice striker

Have a look at last seasons appearances, especially the important games. 1st choice Stevie May, 2nd Greg Stewart, 3rd Rooney.

Even Jayden Stockley and Sam Cosgrove were getting a game before him on occasions.

Mciness was making the point to highlight the money on offer at certain clubs in England. He was backed up by Motherwell boss Robinson.

He knew he was loosing him weeks ago and was looking for a replacement, but cant find one because of the wages on offer in England. Thats why he was upset.
