When was the last time we had a 30+ goalscorer a season at Derby? Ray Straw 1956-57 !!??

Rampage
Watched Jack's goals for Luton and. Posh again. Jack is potentially. Derby's fastest ever player over 10 metres. Great shot with either foot. I will be very surprised indeed f he does not score a lot this season.

Most interesting thing I've read there is how much he wanted to join us, seems we showed some real intent in trying to sign him and a deal was almost inevitable

RIMBAUD
What I found most interesting is the description of their philosophy. Bring young players on. Give them a chance as it benefits both parties. I think most of us on here would suggest it is exactly what we should be doing. Recently however we have done the opposite despite the liip service payed to the concept of developing our own talent by a number of managers. Ambitious
£18,000 a week probably means that he's our lowest earning senior striker - Vydra, Nugent, Jerome & Martin all earn more than that. No doubt in my mind. It's still high, but not outrageous in this day & age.

Things we still don't know - Marriott's wages There is very little chance that Derby are discussing the wages they pay with the owner of the club they're buying from Things we do know - The total fee is potentially more than £6.5m Think that was the total fee they got for Assombalonga? Looks like a decent up front (£3m?) - Probably a goals scored fee (he mentions if Marriott does well) and probably a promotion fee (he mentions if Derby do well too)

True enough, take out Hughes and arguably Hendrick most of our development talent is found league 1 or lower. Hopeful Lowe, Bogle and even Bennett might reverse that this year. Yeh, I'm sure there were conversations - But the fact that he's quote 2 numbers suggests to me he doesn't know the exact amount and is speculating a bit
RoyMac5
Quote "So we found a compromise, we did the deal that was right for the football club, right for the player, and I'll be a Derby fan this season - I hope he does well, I hope they win promotion. "To be fair, at the end, their chief executive and their owner, who I dealt with as well, they were good to deal with, they were fine." Sounds like we didn't roll over too much. Millenniumram
Can’t say 18k seems that bad at all for a striker at this level, hardly a “startling cost”. Brizzle papers clearly trying to make excuses.
3766dan
Expecting to see a few minutes from Marriott and hopefully some magic against Leeds this weekend. Will have had the best part of two weeks to get fitter and accustomed to the high press in training
