We weren't as good at Euro 96 as is made out....but we still should have won it

Bobby Robson wasn't that good a manager for England

More English footballers should go to Spain, Germany, Italy to play

The Spanish league is rubbish, the German league is rubbish and the Italian league is rubbish

The premiershite is not the holy grail

No footballers care at all about the club they are playing for, they are only there for the money

I would play for Forest no problem at all, enjoy it, and run off kissing the badge if I scored....and so would everyone else reading this they just might not be able to admit it

Winning is everything, I don't care at all about "doing it with style"

If you’re going to spout out something, at least do a little research first.

Man Utd had a bigger wage bill than City in the 2017-18 campaign by £10m. They also have the record buy in Pogba.

Arsenal’s wage bill is also £4.45m shy of City’s yearly wage bill, so £85k per week, or in other words less than what Danny Welbeck earns in a week.

This myth that City blow everybody else out of the water financially is absolute nonsense. They’ve spent huge sums on fees, but they’ve spent incredibly well when you consider they’re miles better than United who spend more on wages and Arsenal finished about 40 points behid them despite paying their players very similar.

Pep’s cosching ability is evident for all to see. And his record in the transfer market is decent.

City haven’t bought a single player which was out of reach of the other big six. Fees and wages prove this...

the great barcelona team that is at the end of disbanding was only possible due to their ability to keep their youth players with big money contracts. those guys weren't playing solely for the love of the club, and their world-topping wage bill during that period shows that. it was a bit of a fairytale written by the media.

non-local united/chelsea/arsenal/liverpool fans are much worse than forest fans.

The Italian league is largely full of crap, big-names teams. It’s miles away from the glory 90 days.

The PL, outside the big six, is shockingly bad when considering how much money is spent on those teams.

Bayern Munich’s 2012-13 treble-winning team was the most complete side of the past two decades. So many players in their prime.

Lewandowski could have scored just as many goals as Ronaldo if he played for Madrid.

SAF should have had a much better European record with United’s financial advantage. Massively underachieved with only two wins, both of them flukes.

Fulham was the second best natural Championship side, behind Reading 06, of the past two decades.

England would have won Euro 2004 had we beaten Portugal on penalties.

The amount of b******s in this thread...

My unpopular football opinion is that fans know pretty much **** all about football and should remember that when unleashing their platitudes and half remembered soundbites on the world.

Depends what figures you look at.  Your also basing them being much better on figures that haven’t been released yet, the season only finished recently and the accounts wouldn’t have been issued for last season yet.

Spotrac have all the figures. They’re extremely accurate.

Sean Dyche guiding Burnley to 7th in the Premier League and a place in the Europa League is far more impressive than Guardiola's record-breaking season at City.

Christian Eriksen is the best player in the Premier League.

Fulham are massively overrated and will go straight back down.

This is England's best chance of winning a World Cup since 1990.

Football should introduce a game clock which stops every time the ball is not in play. Timewasting would be immediately rendered pointless.

Free-kicks and penalties for handball should only be awarded if there is - in the opinion of the referee - a clear and obvious intent by the defender to use his arm deliberately. The idea of arms being in an unnatural position is too vague and unfair on defenders.

Retrospective bans for foul play, diving, abuse of officials etc should be severe and enforced within 24 hours of the game ending.

Any player abusing an official and/or approaching an official in an aggressive manner should be shown a red card.

Contact does not mean a foul has been committed and does not entitle a player to go to ground. All players should be made aware of this and reminded that retrospective bans will be meted out for simulation.

A maximum of two players in each matchday squad can wear coloured boots. This will be part of a nationwide 'Back to Black' campaign featuring Jake Buxton as its poster boy.

Teams are only allowed to wear their second and third strips through choice a maximum of once each season (genuine colour clashes are exempt).

Commentators should not apologise to viewers for foul language picked up on microphones.

Each season should feature two retro weekends (old-style kits and black boots compulsory) where teams emerge from the tunnel separately before the match and don't go through the ritual of lining up for handshakes before kickoff. Such weekends will see all matches kick off at 3pm on the Saturday.

Yellow cards for players who remove their shirt after scoring a goal should be replaced with a three-match ban.

The wearing of black armbands should be limited to mark the passing of club legends only. Similarly, any request to mark a death by clapping for a designated minute during a match should be ignored.

Maximum ticket prices should be introduced at all levels of the game. For the Championship these should be £25 for an adult and £15 for those under 18.

Teams should not be reduced in number by having players forced to the touchline after treatment before they are allowed to rejoin play. Treat them and allow them to rejoin before play recommences.

All religious displays by players to be banned as part of a nationwide 'Screw Religion' campaign featuring Jake Buxton as its poster boy.

All referees should be instructed to attempt to keep all 22 players on the pitch where possible. The introduction of sin-bins may help with this.

FA Cup replays to be scrapped. Ties to be settled after 90 minutes, extra-time and penalties if required from the first qualifying round onwards.

Again, I find myself constantly agreeing with you until the Forest one, that is disappointing...

All footballers currently playing in  the championship should be forced to take an immediate 50% pay cut.

the maximum wage for a championship player should be set at 20k per week.

other leagues to take equivalent action.

this is the only way to curb the prima donna culture and get football finances under some sort of control

A hell of a lot more talented young players go backwards in their career than progress. In fact spending big on a young player in the hope he will improve is what caused Villa (Micah Richards) & Sunderland (Jack Rodwell) such issues.

If you have never kicked a football in a competitive game you know shouldn’t be allowed a view on it.

Football fans should support their local club, regardless of what division they are in.

Watching football on TV does not give you the ability to see what is going on off the ball, and has made many people beleive they are wannabe gary Neville’s.

Winning trophies isn’t the be all and end all in football.

You can be a better coach/manager and win nothing in your career than one who has won numerous trophies.

Coaching in football is vastly underrated. Too many armchair fans out there who thinks any Joe Bloggs can just buy the league.

Controlling the game with the ball gives you a better chance of winning than any other method.
