I wouldn't be against Davies going in all honesty, not that I don't rate him - I do. I just think that he's got a year on his deal and we could get some decent money for him. I wouldn't personally offer him a new deal either after this season.

He'll be on a couple of million a year, at least, too.

£40k a week? I very much doubt it!

So Rowetts got a war chest of £50 odd million to spend and he wants to bring in 33 year old Curtis Davies and 32 year old Scott Carson, great imagination there Gaz.

i swear he must **** off to granny porn, he’s got a fascination with pensioners. I bet the stoke fans are milking themselves with excitement already! ?

Get ready for pensioner F.C. stoke fans! SSSSLLLLOOOOOOOWWWWWWW

It's probably not that steep, but it will still be substantial. He would have been on a fair whack at Hull and I doubt he came here on a reduced deal. I could be wrong, of course. He was captain at Hull, too, well until he put in a horror show against Bournemouth and was stripped of it.

why does everyone seem to ignore that Curtis has almost certainly a release clause in his contract given he had one before.  £500k and his gone unless we generate a bidding war that we failed to achieve for Will

The Hull clause was a relegation release clause. No reason to think he'd have a release clause when signing for a championship club on a 2 year contract as a 32 year old.

ok that's interesting, thanks

quite a good idea though for someone at the end of their careers who wants to continue playing. Most will end up benching warming unless they can manufacture a move at a small price.

Well, they have been crowing about all the money they have. They can punt a few more million our way if they like.

True.... but we've also been going on about how skint we are supposedly are, so the 2 kind of balance each other out.

Indeed. Rowett will know how much of that is BS and how much is true. However, it is actually true that we don't have to sell him. Depends how much Rowett wants that particular player.

Don't see why we'd want to sell him, one of the best CB's in the division. I was surprised he even signed for us in the first place, thought he'd be straight back to the prem when Hull were relegated to be honest.

Stoke had better be prepared to spend big if they want Carson and Davies

at least 5 mil for the pair  IMO

Replacing the quality of Davies would cost more than £5m - Never mind Carson

We'd have to spend £10m+ to replace them so that should be the going rate
