Game In Hand

Good thing or bad thing?

Personally, would rather have played today as 3 points would have given us a nice 4 point, plus goal difference, to 7th place.

As it happens we could now slip out of the play offs in the next game and who knows what that could do to an already fragile confidence.

That being said, if we can't beat Sunderland you have to question if we would really deserve a play off place.

Could be a godsend ,, if we get a full squad back and they have the mindset of having to get into the playoffs as opposed to stay in them it could be the right mindset and a help in momentum wise if we storm back into them

The 3 week break for our injury hit squad makes this a good thing.

By the rescheduled date, we should have more of our senior squad to choose from, the pressure on Cardiff's league position may have increased, we may have actually won a game, we may look more secure in the playoffs (or may be out of the playoffs!), etc.

Besides, you know the golden rule - if you look at the league table and you've got a game in hand just add 3 points on and it looks so much better :D

Maybe a drop of warm weather training could be Could go either way. Personally I hope it’s a good thing.

Sunderland are all over place, in total disarray so Huddlestone’s absence really should have less impact on the team than it would have today.

Use the break to rebuild morale and we’ll be fine.  ?

Don’t like having games in hand, just serves to increase the pressure on our games leading up to it to retain morale. However In this case we probably are better for it if our squad can be mentally strong. Don’t believe we had any chance today with all those first teamers out, by the time the replay comes around well have Huddlestone back and Vydra fit which will arguably treble our chances at getting something. That’s not to mention the fact Thorne is back after the international break, so at least he’ll be fit for the games with huddlestone now to cover for him, which wouldn’t have been the case today.

Can't see any negatives really other than i don't like weekends without derby games.

I could have seen us trying for a 0-0 today and getting beat. Would've been a miracle to get 3 points with all the injuries.

No excuses for Sunderland now.

Guaranteed meltdown if we lose when it’s rescheduled.
