Five more wins

Top two has gone. It's probably best to have that attitude, at least we can then enjoy the run in and the excitement of finishing in the top six rather than have a gloom over missing out on top two.

Most would have gladly taken a top six spot at the beginning of the season. 6th would be a good achievement for Rowett.

So, with 12 games remaining, and 36 points left, I think 16-17 will be enough.

I can't see Boro in 7th, or anybody below, grabbing 25-26 points from their last 12. That would be around 95 points on average over a 46-game season.

So five more wins and a draw or two. There are plenty of winnable games left such as Barnsley (H), Sunderland (H), Bolton (H), QPR (A) and Burton (A). Playoffs are a lottery.

Stray thought - our momentum was disrupted by the january window uncertainties. If we had kept the players that we had and signed nobody, I suspect that we would be in a better position than we are now.

Too much concern over FFP, not enough about stability and continuity.

Possibly the same effect as previous years?

We are going to face three of Cardiff (unlikely), Aston Villa, Fulham, Bristol City/?

If we are in the Play Offs, I make us third favourite of the possible four teams on present form.. We need to finish 4th or 5th to stand our best chance of getting to Wembley in my opinion. Two or three draws in the next four games and we are in a fix at some level.

We are rightly in the top 6, where we belong, but after the last 4 matches we need to get back to winning ways

that's our blip. If we can correct the errors, we can go on another mini run, it'll have to be after a DRAW with

Fulham though - if we can win, we're already on our way!!

Lets look at some facts on the Rams, Only Wolves have lost less games so far this season. Only Wolves and Fulham have scored more goals, Only Wolves and Cardiff have conceded less goals. We are the top draw specialist in the teams chasing promotion, we just have to cut out the draws and convert them into wins. Most of our recent draws we have been the better side. We have had stonewall pens not given, a goal disallowed at Millwall that was never offside. Even our last defeat we were not poor, we just could'nt put our chances away. Perhaps we are due a little bit of luck in the next 12 matches, They are all winnable barring the 2 away games against Villa and Wolves, and who knows we might sneak a couple of draws there. Playing to our best in the remaining games I reckon we could get 28 points. But Gary and boys need to hit top form for the next 12 matches and possibly beyond if we end up in the Play offs.

Feels like top 6 and play off chance at the moment, but you know what ? A solid win against Fulham, The others drop points and suddenly you start thinking positively again.

Frustrating I can’t get to more games Jono. Shouting at the tv and Jeff on SSN doesn’t quite have the same effect as being here. Hand on my heart I’ve never booed a Rams player. Always believe in positivity. Watching those Arsenal fans streaming out. Pathetic as far as I’m concerned though their players were given a second half spanking ?

You can look at it two ways: 1 in 4, or 25% chance

Or yes or no, therefore 50-50 ?

@Rampage beat me to it

Is it 1 in 4 or 1 on 3 as we can't play everyone?

Statistically speaking you have a 33% chance of promotion once you make the playoffs.

The focus should be...get a play off position nailed down as quickly as possible

we should all be delighted if we get in to the play offs but I guarantee that if we beat Fulham at the weekend that people in here will be saying we are going to catch Wolves again....and if we lose then we the same people will be saying that Boro are going to catch us...!

Phil Collins could do a job with this thread title...... follow up to One More Night. Surprised Inverurie hasn’t spotted it.

I do of course realise that dates me as some on here will be ‘Who’s Phil Collins?’. Well I’m a fan so there
