Moved to Whatstandwell in the early 90s and got an old Landy for the snow. All it did was slide sideways down the hill on the frozen bits. Was fun for driving round the lanes though. RoyMac5
La La La La...I'm not listening to this thread any more! Have decided we can't afford a new car this year. But if anyone is interested a bloke I spoke to on the phones at Nissan said they're replacing the Juke (think he said this summer). Never liked the Juke it's like a reverse Tardis, smaller than it looks!
EssendonRam
Do not buy a Nissan again in any SUV especially if you are thinking of a manual transmission. I’ve owned manual X-Trails for 17 years now. The first one was perfect. Barely a problem. Second one had the manual transmission die after 4-5 months from brand new. Nissan refused to honour the warranty saying it was ‘wear and tear’. Quoted on $10k to fix and it turned out there’s been a known issue with their manual 4WD transmissions for years. Bris Vegas
I love the jeep wranglers, but due to cost of fuel shooting up I opted for a black Toyota Rav4 sport version (I didn't want people thinking I was a soccer mom). Anyway, It's been a great car for me. A friend has a Chevrolet Trax which are good too, though not 4x4.

So you went wannabe flamboyant hairdresser route instead?
JG400
We had a Subaru Forester (old model ) , was a great AWD vehicle and dirt cheap to maintain , mind you hardly replaced anything on it and did 130K in it
