Would you like a big signing like say Che Adams to bolster promotion hopes

No, not really.

A few sensible outs and select, choice ins at good value.

When the project is about getting a tight knit group of hungry players committed to the cause then going "great lads, but big time charlie here is the new golden boy" might be a bit counter productive to that ethos. I dont expect big incomings anyway.

I agree with most that the focus of this window should really be on moving players out, not in. We need to significantly decrease our already inflated wage-bill, if possible, and I wouldn't be surprised to see players such as Anya, Shackell, Bent, Hanson and Olsson all go.

In saying that though, I would like to see Derby add some quality in one or two areas, if we can. An extra wideman would be my priority. Someone who can offer quality on the right. I'd like to see us take a gamble on someone like Marcus Maddison, as he clearly has a lot of flair and skill, but wouldn't demand such a crazy fee.

I'd also like to see us add a young centre-half. If Shackell goes, and Pearce potentially goes in the summer, then we'll be in need of a new defender, and with Keogh and Davies both being over 30, it would be nice to see an understudy come in this month.

Additionally, if Bent goes, as well as potentially letting Chris Martin go (if rumours are to be believed), then there might be room for a new striker. Again, with the focus of this window being on balancing books/managing finances better, I'd really like to see us take a gamble on a young promising forward from the lower leagues. I really like the look of Devante Cole from Fleetwood Town, and I think his strengths would fit our playing style.

Another center back, and a tough tackling midfielder would do it for me, think we still need that bit more

competition. The only thing is they have to be better than what we already have! So doubt we can do it

for a reasonable price.

Shackell, Anya, Bent and poss Olsen to equal it out a bit.

Centre back? How come? I think we are overloaded with options as Pearce, Baird, Shackell and even Wisdom can play there and that doesn't even include youngsters! Meanwhile, those two at the starting line up is keeping a clean sheet after another and are usually fit to play...

I understand the point you make.  A loan might make sense though IF we are up against FFP in terms of spending cap at the present time, or Rowett is otherwise unable to buy his ideal choice until the Summer.

In terms of his fitness l think it would be ill-judged to use his recent game time in Liverpool’s first team as the overriding stat.  Not going to be easy for him as 5th or 6th choice to get game time. Not a Klopp signing, and not really a good fit in their system.

IF he is fit, and available for 6 months, l think he could be a very useful addition to the squad.

Ings looked awful and unfit when he played against the under 23s, although that was 2 months ago.

We're too dependent on vydra, and the wingers seem to have faded away.

we can either grin and bear it or do something about it.

We've scored 9 in the last 5. Of which Vydra has scored 2, the same amount as Weimann, Russell and Nugent, with Lawrence getting the last goal. How is that 'too dependent on Vydra'?

Also Lawrence has been injured, Weimann has been on excellent form and Russell has been great when he's come on. They've also been responsible for scoring 5 of our last 9 goals, along with assisting the majority of the others. How have our wingers faded away?

Too dependent on vydra in terms of there is no other option to play that role.

johnno? Lawrence? Russell? Thorne?  Not really

Weimann has been good - agreed. Johnno is currently preferred to lawrence who is achieving very little.

Johnson is a crash bang wallop kind of a midfield player. hasn't got the pace to join in the vydra, weimann, nugent attacks.

Russell is certainly better from the bench. Not good enough to hold down a first team place.

had a great chance to make it 4-0 v millwall and put the ball out of the ground which he seemed to think was funny.

absolute nonsense.

I think youve just awoken from a deep sleep and you are somehow confusing Vydra with Ince from this time last year. When Derby could not score at all unless Ince scored an individual effort.

i for one, am more than happy with Nugent, Weimann, bradley Johnson, johnny russells contribution.

So if you want to rest vydra, who would play in that role?

Could play Lawrence in there? Showed against Fulham he has the trickery to create in the middle.

Thing is though if you boil it down we basically play 4-4-2. Just one of the strikers likes to drop back and play in the space. Nugent could quite easily play that role then up top we have Martin, Winnall or even for a last resor Bent.

You could try lawrence but we have 5 players covering 3 positions, so one extra wouldn't go amiss.

Nugent was asked to play that role in a home game where winnall was up front - i'd have to look it up - and basically refused. He played his normal game much to winnall's frustration. Martin hasn't really got the mobility and pace. Bent is history.
