DERBY County are hoping to make two or three loan signings in time for Saturday's big East Midlands clash against rivals Nottingham Forest at Pride Park.

The Rams slipped to a 1-0 defeat against struggling Plymouth Argyle on a heavy pitch at Home Park last night and go into the showdown with Forest only five points above the Championship's bottom three.

Forest are riding high in the table and their 5-0 hammering of Queens Park Rangers put them joint top with Newcastle United.

While the defeat at Plymouth was disappointing, Derby's performance was encouraging and Clough believes the players should not feel too down.

The arrival of new faces could provide a timely boost before the transfer window closes on Monday.

"We are trying to get a couple of loans in for the weekend and we are down the line with a couple.

Who do you want ? or rather who do you think we will get.

Nigel was asked if he would be trying to extend DJ's and Johnsons loans and he said depends who he gets in the meantime, it won't be anyone exciting :frown: and like Boycie say's they will probably sit on the bench anyway so what's the point.

Reading an article on the DET, Clough is talking about getting additions in by Monday, not the Forest game. Giles Sunu, Jamie Mackie, David Martin and Danny Buijs are mentioned.

Clough said,

"We are trying, we are making calls about loans to bolster the squad – not necessarily just for the weekend, but for the rest of the season," said Clough.

"The loans are from Premier League clubs. One is a bit more experienced, a couple are young lads.

"Gilles Sunu, from Arsenal, has been mentioned. We are still talking about that and a couple of others as well."
