Zanzala on loan to Chester for a month

Having previously worked at a championship clubs youth academy I can tell you many a reason why he might have been sent to chester rather than other clubs.

1. Loan restrictions for league clubs

2. Rowett knows their manager from a coaching course and is helping him out

3. Chester might have a respected coach that rowett knows

4. Chester might have watched our youth on the look out for loans and asked about 4 or 5 players availability and we offered zanazla

5.They might play a "similar" style to our 23s

6. Could be derby will set him up a flat down there to get him ready for independent life as a footballer.

7. He might get "guaranteed" starts (this can be a bit of a myth, but it can be put in clauses for non league teams in particular)

8. We might just be getting him fit

Not as simple as "he is on loan at that level so he ain't ever gonna make it"

From what I can see he's been there for 4 matches and come on in each but hasn't scored for Chester yet.  They've lost 3 out of the last 4 matches including an FA Cup tie and they're struggling near the bottom of the Vanarama National league.  Good experience though.  Proper football.

He's on the bench tonight v Wrexham. It's on Bt sport.

What's the point on him going on loan if he's not playing? He needs to be get match fitness back.

Came on with 2 minutes to go, even though they were 1 down and chasing a goal..

They said it was his last game before coming back to Derby.

I hope so. The Chester manager preferred to play a large lump of a centre half up front than a pacy striker, who he shoved out wide for the 2 mins + 4 mins injury time! Can't think he'd learn too much there that needs more than a month.

If that's the case Roy & I assume it is it is more than a little worrying.
