We don't need to sign anyone. Team spirit is high, we have cover in every position and more than adequate squad depth. Why spend for the sake of it?

2007 we brought Teale and Fagan and the season turned on our heads.

Why do you need to buy when you have everything already??

Rowett thinks differently

He may well want out of Newcastle due to lack of game time but I'd be surprised if that means he would be prepared to drop down a division - I'm sure there would be interest from the likes of West Brom, Swansea Tec.

Challenge that - with Bony, Abraham at Swansea - Rondon, Long etc at WBA - where would he fit in? Surely a more experienced striker would be needed in a relegation fight

he hasn’t proved himself  yet

If schteve goes to Wednesday he could take mitrovic and / or martin.

i wouldn't be totally surprised if hooper came here in part ex but i could also see GR sticking with nugent, winnall and bent.

Wasn’t that more down to the fact they were all ****?

Good list of highlighted players apart from Lee Gregory who I personally do not rate at all and his recent PP performance didn't change that for me....

If Steve goes there I can see him offering contracts to Bryson, Thorne and Russell, maybe signing Blackman and Martin and even Bent....basically everyone.

One thing is certain, Butterfield will be sent back on the first bus with an apology letter in hand which reads "sorry about the comments boss, my Facebook was hacked"

I understand why people don’t want us to make signings and history has told us it doesn’t work but it’s a completely flawed concept to not do it in fear of getting it wrong.

Making poor signings that add to depth and don’t add championship promotion/premiership quality is where we have gone wrong.

At this stage with a squad like ours we would be on track to break our own worst points record if we went up. One window to ready this squad for the premiership isn’t enough, need to use this opportunity to find and embed a couple of quality players.

Wouldn’t mind us looking for a/taking a risk on a vardy/mahrez (lower league/foreign lesser known player). Worst case they would be a low contract that’s easier to offload if they don’t step up, best case its someone who wouldn’t disrupt the squad and have potential to make a big difference.

I would do it with either young defensive players (because based on our current form we aren’t struggling but the average age is worryingly high). But the best place is attacking players where in the premiership for proven quality you don’t get much change out of 10-15 mill.

We've missed a trick with Lewis Morgan at St Mirren. Proper old fashioned winger who scores goals. 2 tonight v  the Arabs.

6 months left on his contract and it looks like Celtic have signed him for  £300k.

Why have we missed a trick - were we interested in him?

I know, but there's still young talent up there at good prices.

I'll keep banging the drum. Bryson, Russell, Forsyth hardly set the heather alight up North but have done more than a decent job for Derby.
