That's the attitude GR is looking for in players. He wants them not settling for being on the bench but actually chomping at the bit to play and be involved in our challenge for promotion.

Competition for places is healthy and its what drives players to perform and strive to become better.

Have to say with all the money being splashed about nowadays, 1.5million is another Bargain deal in terms of potential risk v reward. Would still prefer Winnall starts and Nuge 1st sub

Would I have signed him? Probably not. But Gary’s got every signing on the head so far - so it’s fair now he’s signed that we all give him chance.

Hope he’s afforded a little patience by our fans. Davies wasn’t perfect straight away and it’s taken Huddlestone and Lawrence till now to really look like good signings imo.  I think Jerome is a perfect ‘other option’ for us.

Huddlestone has looked quality throughout, he just suffers when Johnson is next to him. Hopefully no more.

Davies has become an absolute monster. What a player at this level.

Since the 2010-2011 season, he has scored 15 goals in 146 Premier League appearances, so it seems like if we do get promoted he's not going to be good enough next season. Admittedly a large chunk of those will be substitute appearances I suppose.

Still I don't suppose anyone will be complaining if manages to chip in and help us get there.
