plays like he knows it's not going to last forever so he's going to enjoy himself as long as it does last.

Too many take it for granted. They've got the job that most kids want!

class all round, love a striker who does a lot of running. Makes a defenders game far harder. Makes room for others as the defender gets dragged away. If he does stay our prefered choice up front I can see him getting close to 20 goals this season.  Nuge, vydra and Lawrence have so much pace and quality

Disappointing that some on here feel the need to diss one of our front-line strikers to show their support for the other. They are both class. In the same way as I like both champagne and single malt scotch, I don't feel the need to rank them in any order, just enjoy one or other from time to time. We are likely to see both of them for a spell in most matches, given the propensity for either of them to tire after an hour or so, so just be thankful that we can call on such able substitutes.

And before anyone says I have ignored Vydra, he is rapidly making that "number 10 slot" his own.

At least we are using our own players to 'diss' another of our own.

We usually use other teams players.

I'm assuming Martin is the scotch in this analogy??

I love Martin, but i love The Nuge, just that little bit more...

We're evolving. Next we'll be saying 'wow we have a lot of quality strikers at the club'. Frightening stuff.

We do. And have done since Vydra and Nuge added to the numbers. The missing ingredient has always been the midfield balance - Bryson got injured and Hendrick departed and we made do with stand ins for George. It was a great system for those players but inflexible. We never resolved that until 4231 which better suits the current players. (Including CM ! ) and one of the great things about Nuge is that he will make a decent show in whatever system you play. He isn't really a specialist with 10/10 in any area .. He's just a good striker - man for all systems.

I like martin. I like nugent with vydra. But i'm not so keen on Bent.

(Despite that wonder goal at wolves - which is one of my favourite Derby goals of all time).

Used to hate Nugent mainly because he always scored against us but now I love him only wished we had signed him earlier.

That smile when he used to score against us used to drive me up the wall but now I love it when it's from a goal for us. He's a bit like Savage in a way, bit easier to like when he's your w****** isn't he.

We've looked better in Nugent starting. We've looked better 4-2-3-1. Nugent brings energy and tempo to our game and his enthusiasm is a good influence in others including the fans. Great to have competition and strikers coming into form! Credit to Nuge. He's taking his opportunity.

Not so much interest when most are in broad agreement is there?!

Conclusion? Certain posters who hijack other threads about certain players live for the wummery.

God I hope Martin starts tonight and has a crap game so we can be savage to each other again...

David Nugent, what a guy

I have a bone to pick with him after this. He taught my son to stick his fingers right in the collarbone and it really hurts!!

so basically my son learnt how to take someone down in a Vulcan death grip from summer football holiday camp!!

Cheers Nuge ?
