When Man City have paid 50 Million for an average ex Sheffield United wing back I have literally no idea where you've gone with that response. I was merely pointing out that it's hardly a logical conclusion to come to that your previous statement A (above) results in state of affairs B. If I have a £250k house and want a bigger/better one but can't or don't want to shell out £500k because the bigger house is overpriced, does that mean that I must be happy where I am?. No, becuase I do still want that bigger place.

No, becuase I do still want that bigger place. That analogy is ridiculous if I may say. First of all Football transfers are about paying the going rate for decent footballers so saying I'm not going to pay telephone number prices for players is a silly thing to say because I'm afraid telephone number prices is where Football is at. Tell you what I'll offer 500k for Tom Lawrence and the Foxes laugh at me and then I say what about 5 Million and they laugh again . End product I don't improve DCFC

Pearl Ram
...or more likely become victims of the knock on effect from it. Rowett's got to understand we're going to have to put our hand in our pocket if he wants players that'll make a difference, Boro are at it again this morning with some lad from West Ham, Wolves are spending, it's all very well saying he doesn't want to pay the kind of fees clubs are asking but if you don't you stand still. I don't like it but it's how it's become I think.

Pearl Ram
Quite. If he wants to shop at Lidl he should have pulled his finger out and took a punt on Watkins before Brentford got hold of him. How does he think he's going to replace Ince with this big name he reckons he's got lined up without spending decent money ?

Supporters have to put up with rubbish year on year. Do you ever think we are wanting better for DCFC rather than same old same old . We have to put up with the likes of Watford and Huddersfield in the Premier League buying our best players.

If I was clever enough to reference a post I made 2 weeks ago saying exactly that then I would do. I drew an analogy with politicians glossing over unpopular decisions by making lavish promises that the voting populous would hopefully then forget about when they fail to materialise. It was a pretty crass statement from Rowett as it has now set expectations sky high.

No, of course not but we don't have another £30-50m to spend on players. Even if we did, we've proved recently that spending doesn't guarantee success. Once again: We are where we are. That doesn't mean that GR (or I) am happy with it.

So why sell these players on the cheap without adequate replacements. You may well say Huddlestone , Davies and Wisdom WILL make all the difference this season and we WILL get too 6 . I fear Gary is starting to think this squad is already good enough although I do think I'm becoming slighy impatient . Maybe I'm just playing devils advocate as I really rate GR but I hope he isn't being deluded by certain players.
