Can't really see him going back to Man Utd, him and Mourinho severely dislike each other. Many forget that back in 2009 he made a right show of himself at Man Utd when he was trying to force through the move. If Ferguson was still there then I could see him going back there but next to no chance now Mourinho is there.

China would be harder to pull off because they have amended the transfer rulings again there recently.

Is it on record that they hate each other?

Ronaldo is just after a new contract. It's as simple as that.

As has been mentioned, his goal is all about himself becoming or being remembered as not only the greatest of his generation but also the greatest of all time. Unfortunately for him, he is neither.

As for the Ballon d'Or's, they're a joke. They have zero criteria whatsoever.

One year they decide it's based on team success, then another it's down to personal stats, then another year it's a player from whoever won the Euros, then it's a player from whoever won the CL....

If it was down to how well a player has played, Messi would have won it last year and this year too. Last year for instance he scored more goals, created more chances, made more dribbles etc.

But Juanfran missed his penalty in the CL final and Ronaldo converted, while Portugal won the Euros while Ronaldo wasn't even on the pitch. Therefore he won the Ballon d'Or... Makes a lot of sense that one player can win the Ballon d'Or when the fate of the trophies is up to his teammates.

If his goal is all about being the greatest of his generation he wouldn't be looking for a new contract 7 months after signing a new one.

Dont get me wrong, he's built like a machine and that's through dedication of wanting to be the greatest but it's clearly not his only goal in life.

Will stick his name on the underside of a bus if they pay him.

It's all about making a statement. He believes he's the best, and the best deserves to have the best contract.

Messi and Ronaldo push eachother, and is it any coincidence that this Ronaldo news has come only a matter of days after Messi agrees in principal to sign a new deal at Barcelona making him the best paid player in the world?

It's clearly a tact for Ronaldo to earn a new deal, pushing him again ahead of Messi in the earning stakes.

Not seen anything about Messi contract, pretty sad if that is the case.
