You really think it won't happen? Highly doubtful because it would be much more of a foregone conclusion than this one. No way would Mayweather win and he doesn't need the money to embarrass himself like that.

You really think it won't happen? You've just taken a share of a billion pound prize - are you ever working again? This is McGregor's check-out fight. Sign off with a pay packet unimaginable. Mayweather is such an elite athlete that in the 2 years it would take to arrange this fight - he could pay for the best training and become a very serious fighter. Elite athlete vs elite athlete - no foregone conclusions and yeah noboby 'needs' all that money but the pressure will be on them to make the fight happen. It's not just the fighters that get rich from these fights.

It's not just the fighters that get rich from these fights. He's an elite boxer, no evidence he's elite at anything else. As things stand it likely wouldn't last too round 2. He could technically do some training, though I think he'd need more than 2 years. Do you see Mayweather doing that at his age? If he was up for it then why not allow elbows in this match? That would even things out a bit.

scarboroughwa
So everyone thinks that McGregor will fly at Mayweather for three or four rounds because Mayweather is the stand off, arms length, defensive tactician? Don't be surprised when McGregor doesn't do this.
Parsnip
I've had a tenner on a cheeky double - Mayweather by decision and a Rams win. Easy £110!

G-Ram
There is no way meyweather is stepping in the octagon & i highly doubt mcgregor will again. His biggest pay day in UFC was $3m for the Diaz fight. His payday for the mayweather fight will be $60m. There is no money in UFC compared to boxing. He's had more exposure & sponsorship simply by switching to boxing. if mcgregor doesnt embarrass when he gets beat tonight he'll end up fighting Paulie & will make more from that than he would returning to UFC

Alph
Badou Jack v Cleverley might be fun. Please please McGregor don't come out trying to find range. The only possible way he can win this is by charging him like a maniac. Just make the first round a spectacle! Don't box. Please!

SillyBilly
I think the ref jumped in a little too early for the TO, gives Conor a little bit of credit which he doesn't deserve. His comments after were a little deluded that he could recover and the legs were tired. Floyd was picking his punches, ref should have let him put Conor on the canvas. Bris Vegas
Thought the stoppage was right. Connor was tired, he couldn't win the flight and took a bunch of straight right hands flush on the chin as he couldn't keep his hands up. McGregor lacked power throughout. You could see he wasn't even hurting Mayweather even in the early rounds when Floyd allowed him to attack at will without any counterpunches. Scorecards were stupid though. This needs reviewing in boxing. One of the judges had Mayweather winning two of the first three rounds. Floyd literally didn't throw a punch until round four! How can you win a round by not even throwing a punch? In other fights the aggressor almost always gets the benefit, even if their punching isn't clean. In Mayweather's case, he gets rounds even when he's just weaving and ducking without throwing anything back. It went exactly as most predicted in all honesty. I thought it would go the distance, and Floyd could have allowed it to if he wanted. But he promised to get him out late, so he did. Wouldn't surprise me if he laid huge bets on as clearly upped his use of powerpunches in the 9th and 10th.
Shuff264
Was a better fight than I thought, stoppage was fair. If you're struggling to stand and defend yourself, you're not fighting anymore.
SillyBilly
As the commentator just said on Sky, if you take away the fact Conor came from MMA then the fight wasn't competitive at all and probably disappointing. Floyd allowed Conor to tire himself out rounds 1-2 and then picked him apart bit-by-bit.
G-Ram
Floyd judged his pace ... McGregor was gassed after 2 rounds. Floyd could have stopped him at will. Assessed the threat, waited till there's was no danger whatsoever & then opened up. If McGregor was in with a naturally aggressive boxer. He wouldn't have gone a round. Slapping with his chin in the air.
