England fans amoung the worst.....say the FA

England's supporters have been branded among the worst in the world.

The Football Association's security staff and reports have flagged up the Three Lions as having one of the biggest problems with their own fans.

FA chiefs privately accept there is a major issue with those who follow the national team, and trouble at the March friendly with Germany in Dortmund was the latest embarrassing episode.

Two members of the FA’s England Supporters’ Travel Club have been given lifetime bans after one gave a Nazi salute and the other made both cut-throat and 'Adolf Hitler moustache' gestures.

It is the first time members of the official organisations have been barred, and there is a growing fear about groups of young fans - aged between 18 and 25 - who go to away games and treat them like booze and drug-fuelled stag weekend.

In Germany, 59 England fans were reported to the police. Besides the two FA members banned for life, 16 more received suspensions and another four have been sent warning letters.

The FA are stepping up security ahead of Saturday’s World Cup qualifier in Scotland, with specially trained stewards and extra policing for the England fans who have bought up the 4,761 ticket allocation for the away end at Hampden Park.

Trouble being a nazi salute during england v Germany, leading to lifetime bans. Not exactly violent conduct is it?
