The quick peep behind hands to see if the ref is looking should be easy to spot

He doesn't need a ban

He needs a good two footed tackle right there to make the injury more believable.

Hate that guy

Some cases will be really obvious. But a bunch of others won't be. I'm in favour of players going to ground to win a freekick/penalty if they have been fouled.

Trying to stay on your feet only gives an unfair advanatage to the defence and often allows them to get away with a foul.

Football is a contact sport, no player should ever decide if he goes down or not.

The ref shouldn't need them to go to ground followed by multiple rolls to give a foul.

Something has to be done to stop this blatant cheating. Just seen a Luton player totally con the ref into awarding a penalty which has put his team ahead on aggregate against Blackpool.

If Luton win then also win the play-off final then retrospective punishment against the player would be totally inadequate. A similar scenario could occur in the Championship play-off final and the financial implications would be immense.

Want Blackpool as a northern club to win this even more so now. Despite their owners.

How can you judge whether a player has dived though? The player in return could just say he fell over, didn't appeal for a foul and was rewarded a penalty.

The Sane example the other week. I don't think he even appealed so how can you say he purposely tried to deceive the ref?

Also can you go to ground with minimal contact and ask for a penalty? Is this any worse than asking for a penalty for handball when in some cases it's blatantly obvious it isn't.

Too many questions, and I think they're setting themselves up for even more controversy with that obvious grey area for diving.

Didn't see the Sane incident but all the ref the needed to do was ask the player if he was fouled, If the player said yes the foul stands. If the player said no the game carries on. After the game if it is shown that no foul had been committed and the player lied, he gets a larger ban and the club is deducted points.

But that would never work if the player genuinely believes he was fouled.

Players scream foul all the time, even when it's obvious it wasn't.

Also what happens if a player receives a yellow for diving and he was actually fouled? Will the yellow get rescinded?

I just think this is all stupid. May aswell just bring in technology and sort the decision out there and then.

Retospective bans for diving won't solve the issue of injustice in the moment.
