Just looking back at the 13/14 season and Bryson's goals, and half of his goals came in 3 matches (Millwall x 3, Ipswich x 2 and Forest x 3)

Clusters in football are always interesting. Some put it down to "form" but perhaps an in-depth analysis of those games and the games around them may give us insight into why Bryson hit a rich vein....his position, his run of games, the formation of the team...Bryson never seemed to get the nod when Mac was in charge...yet I believe when Bryson has a run of games and given a bit of freedom to get forward, we see him suddenly start to produce his best. Certain players should be given a priority andI believe Bryson is one of those.

Would it be unreasonable to say that those two goals against Ipswich were some of, if not the most important that season?

There was only 7 games that season that Bryson didn't start, 1 league cup game as Clough made changes, Chelsea in the FA cup after he went off injured in the previois game, Bournemouth and Barnsley after picking up an injury in the previous game, Leeds last game of the season as he was rested, came on in the 89th minute, Brighton at home in the play off as he was injured in the away leg then the final as Mac couldn't really change the team after that performance.

The following season Bryson didn't start 23 games, of which we won 15 drew 5 and lost 3. Of those 23 Bryson came on in 13 games as a sub. Bryson missed 10 games that season we won 7 drew 2 and lost 1.

I just found it interesting, and hadn't realised. Were they the most important of the season? Who knows? You can make a case for quite a few goals, Sammon's away at Watford, with Mac going for it in that game and going for a win instead of taking a good point away made us more adventurous for the rest of the season, Martin's last gasp winner at home to Yeovil after being 2-0 down at ht, Bryson's first against forest on his way to his hattrick, after we hadn't scored for a few games.

That was before the tool McClaren decided he preferred Hendrick as an attacking midfielder to Bryson, so, in the second season Bryson (after scoring 16 goals including two hat tricks) was told to sit deep whilst Hendrick was told to play more forwards of the two.

Tactical genius that.

The same bafoon told Forsyth to defend more in the second season to allow Cyrus 'Roberto Carlos' Christie to get forward and play in those world class balls he is renowned for.

Hendrick. The guy we sold for £10m that's played every week in the PL and is a Republic Of Ireland international. While Bryson doesn't get in the Scotland side.

Like I said, the guy your slating got the most points we have ever got in a season? Most goals too I think. He's better than any manager we've had since Jim Smith with perhaps the exception of Billy Davies when it comes down to an argument of standard of football. Mac won more points than Billy. More goals.

So if Mac is a buffoon what insults would you aim at Clough, Clement, Rowett, Wassall, Burley, Jewell, Brown, Gregory, Pearson.. etc etc.

How many did Bryson score per season before the buffoon got hold of him?

Do you acknowledge facts or do you just plough on like toddy and Ninos?

Look forwards, not backwards, McClaren has gone, similar posts, repeating how wonderful Mac is etc,  just as the Nigel Clough admirers including myself, were constantly told on here, to move on. We are still in the Championship, none of the managers have got us promoted, so why bother with all the comparisons, stats don't get you promoted, finishing top two or winning the play offs do.

I'll stop talking about McClaren when people stop bringing him up and saying things that make zero sense.

Very rare do I bring McClaren up first. He's not relevant to me.

I just won't sit and watch people rewrite history to suit their agenda

he's hardly likely to say anything different.

I'd imagine every player with an ounce of intelligence would say exactly the same!

And which of our players have more than an ounze of intelligence

I just remember him vs Leeds the first season he was here.....he was everywhere that game, we won one nil and I thought he was a good signing then.

I love Bryson and I think rowett rates him to. But for injuries and misguided attempts to ask him to plat GTs way he'd still get the recognition he deserves.
