why would they even want to go up

From top to bottom, our players know their level.

They are all on decent salaries for being no better than average in the grand scheme of things. It's alright Bradley Johnson posturing and puffing his chest out trying to boss the midfield. Russel running around like a headless chicken with little or no end product, Pearce ok until he actually receives the ball etc etc etc...with the exception of Ince who does possess that required ability and can back it up with work decent work rate, these guys are just taking the piss out of every single one of us that supports them. and in turn would want our team to be genuine and actually respond to our urgings like it actually mattered to them.

Instead, they all would prefer to be just big fish in a small pond. Getting rich with no desire to be found out for the ***** they are if they ever got promoted.

We don't deserve this mediocrity any more

I have been saying this for a long time. For the majority of these prima donnas it is a disincentive for them to go up.  They would be out on their ears and lose their big fat salaries.  Quite pathetic really.

Yesterdays result was probably the best thing that could happen to this football club (with all present things considered).

After the Brum game last week us fans who went were singing loud and proud and were buzzing about the last minute goal.  But it wasn't until we came down from the hysteria that we realised we were bloody awful.

Defensively our team would struggle in League 2, our midfield currently would struggle in the Scottish championship.

My concern was that we would mount a promotion push, sneak into the playoffs, just miss out on promotion, optimism raised, all is forgiven and we go again next season.

The display away at Burton was not Pearsons fault, the collapse under Mcclaren was not solely down to Mac, the performance yesterday was not down to Rowett and the Zamora goal was not down to Mcclaren......these players need to shoulder the majority of the blame, it is their legs and footballing brains out there on the field.

Except for Thorne, Baird, Forsyth, Martin, Ince and Nugent, any one of those other players should be considered for the chop.  Including everyones favorite world beater Will Hughes.

This is the modern game i am afraid. You do not motivate 11 millionaires with more money ( promotion bonus ).  The status quo, another year in the championship, is the best most of our players can hope for.  Take for instance, Richard Keogh, who's defensive protocol is to back off, wave his arms around, look sh+t scared, tell others what they should be doing and and then end up on the floor.  I have no doubt, like I said, this goon will be, like I said, looking forward to a summer break and another year in the championship, like I said.  It might even transpire to be a fact. Only at Derby.

Ladies & Gentlemen...your captain, after learning there will be no chance he will be taking his team the English Premiership.

Listen to him, especially from 3.30 and his comment about the manger not mentioning promotion.

So much wrong with this I can't really be bothered.

No go on do, cos it's what a lot of people are thinking. And tbh I can understand why - they flatter to deceive, yet we've seen them beat good teams. Perhaps they're scared of promotion?

Why would they want to go up?

Why would they want to play in the Premier League?

Why would they want more money, fame and to make their family prouder?

Serious?

Anyone else here quite happy to go nowhere in their job? Don't mind being rubbish at it? Got no ambitions or aspirations and earns too much money that they don't want more?

But they aren't 'nowhere' are they? They aren't rubbish - often watched by 30,000+ fans. Not no ambition, and money isn't the best motivation in people's employment.

Bradley Johnson left Waltham Forest for Cambridge for Northampton. Why? Must have been earning a nice wage. Then he went on to play out on loan for a few clubs before signing for Leeds, Norwich and Derby.

How many friends do you think he's left. How many times has he moved house. How many cosy set ups has he left behind? How many times could he have sat on a contract "injured"

Yet now, one league away from playing in front of millions and millions of viewers he's quit. He's happy with his next contract being worse than this one. He doesn't want his kids growing up watching him play Hazard. He doesn't want his Dad seeing him score against Manchester United. He doesn't want to play Arsenal and prove anything to them. He's happy if 30,000 people come and think he's crap at his job.

There's motivation levels. Theirs confidence and belief. There's comfort.

But do people really believe these blokes don't want to play in the Premier League.

And where were these comments after the Brum game. A poor performance that was "nice to see us grind out results"? A poor performance that landed 3pts thanks to a good goal kick and a good touch from Ince

I think the issue is not that they don't want to play in the prem, it's that if Derby get there they know they will not be good enough so will be sold automatically like Johnson at Norwich was. Hence, they will be sold and more likely than not will have to decrease their wages. I'm not saying this applies to all of them but a lot of them are too cosy here

But look at our fans and their quest of leadbitter at boro. Not good enough for the prem yet many would be happy for us to chuck a big contract at him to get him here.

People go on about players not getting played and told to leave if we go up. If we went up and decided players like Keogh, Russell, bryson, martin, Johnson. Vydra, basically the ones fans think don't want to get promoted, were not good enough there would be long line of championship clubs waiting to sign them and still pay them what they get here. There is money in the championship besides derby. Villa, Wednesday, Newcastle, bristol, forest, brighton, Leeds and new money like wolves, blues, reading might chuck money about, not to mention Norwich and other relegated clubs next season.

All of those would chuck money at our "prem rejects" as they have "promotion experience"
