David
DERBY County manager Nigel Clough last night checked on one of his transfer targets for the summer, ADO Den Haag skipper Danny Buijs. Clough flew to Holland to watch Buijs play in Den Haag's game away to NAC Breda. Buijs is a right-back or defensive midfielder who has also played for Feyenoord, Groningen and had a loan spell at Excelsior. The 27-year-old joined Den Haag on loan in January 2009 and made his move permanent in the summer for an undisclosed fee. He signed a two-year deal. Den Haag have struggled this season in the Eredivisie, the Dutch First Division, and sat fourth bottom before they faced Breda. Buijs looks certain to move on in the summer and Derby appear to be favourites to land him. http://www.therams.co.uk/news/Rams-boss-Clough-flies-Holland-check-Buijs/article-1948931-detail/article.html

vicky-27
NIGEL Clough will watch transfer target Danny Buijs for a second time in less than three weeks tonight. Derby County have been tracking the ADO Den Haag right-back or midfielder and hope to tie up a deal for the player in the summer. Den Haag are at home to NEC Nijmegen in another crucial game in their battle to avoid relegation from the Eredivisie, the top division in Holland, and Buijs will play under the watchful eye of Clough and Rams coach Gary Crosby. "We are further down the line with Danny than any of our other targets at the moment," said Clough, who saw Buijs play against NAC Breda last month. "Den Haag are fighting relegation and so he wants to concentrate totally on that," added Clough. "Once the season is over we will get the deal done. Everything is agreed with Den Haag, it is just a matter of tieing up a few loose ends." Buijs started his career at Feyenoord where he worked with Rams coach Johnny Metgod. He has also played for Groningen and had a loan spell with Excelsior. The 27-year-old scored in Den Haag's victory against FC Utrecht at the weekend and put in an impressive performance. David
Derby boss Nigel Clough has had a change of heart about ADO Den Haag captain Buijs. "We have failed to agree terms and the manager now feels he has sufficient options at right-back, so will not be pursuing the deal any further," said a Rams spokesman. Clough brought in a right-back, John Brayford, from Crewe Alexandra last week. While Paul Connolly looks set to leave Derby this summer, Dean Leacock, Russell Anderson and Paul Green can also operate in the position. Clough has flown out to Holland twice to watch 27-year-old former Feyenoord man Buijs, who can also play in midfield. But his interest in the player appears to have cooled, particularly following the signing of Brayford. http://www.therams.co.uk/news/Tomasz-joins-Rams-s-Buijs/article-2209804-detail/article.html
