Best atmosphere for a while.

I've always been a Saturday 3PM purist, but maybe I could get used to Friday nights. Finish work, couple of bevs, puts you in the right mood.

The football was right though, most importantly.

Not just the South Stand...the chanting second half was metronomic* and the timbre of the chant clearly lifted the players to enhanced effort and the result was the goal. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and can't wait for Fulham because I think there will be a pre-match buzz which was absent last night.

* in the musical rather than the medical sense of the word.

I sit in the East stand it was the best atmosphere there for a while as well. South stand really did the job well of keeping things going.

Credit to all the fans fans who even when play broke down a few times were really behind the lads letting them know we were there and appreciating their efforts.

For me it was a very telling thing that the most popular chant was about the manager. Maybe a message to the players and Mel that we'll give Rowett all the support he needs, and the players particularly will come second to him in a popularity contest. Maybe.

Same view as I. I was amazed that East Stand got involved and even responded to the 'East stand, east stand give us a song request' (for possibly the first time this season!

The continued 'Gary Rowett's black and white army' was fantastic.

Left a bit early as journey home is a long one and we were in Costco car park when whistle went, the chant carried all the way over there and was great. I am sure the last time I heard that at the end of a game was Blackburn 2 / 3 years back.

Be fantastic if we could keep that up.

I do find the pre-match attempts to whip up the crowd well intended but unecessary 'come on, lets start with the north stand, all those with flags and scarves...'

I does help when you have a manager who shows a bit of passion as well (Rowett seemed generally thrilled after we had scored).

There was four or five empty seats near me about 5 rows from the back, near the drummer. At half time a few lads came up and joined some mates, they were looking round, saying "its a bit high", "great view", etc etc when the Gary Rowett's Black and White Army started, at first they just looked round lauging, seemed a bit too self conscious (or maybe too cool or hipsterish to join in.

As the chant got louder and louder one or two started and soon all of them were belting it out with the rest of us....its catching lads and lasses and makes the game far more enjoyable when we get behind the team like that - don't be shy!!! Give it some!!!!
