I read the comments on the article steve nicholson posts on facebook, and basically everyone was hounding him.

Probably angry and frustrated with daddy.

but whats more alarming is, the fact we dont know what he does. I would imagine he is more involved in networking and the recruiting services for young talent within the academy age groups.

but all comments from frustrated rams fans were basically lambasting him for the lack of first team talent coming in (which surely was chris evans' area)

Whilst we are on the subject or getting angry about derby county family members working for the club. Doesnt meddling Mel have a son and daughter which work for the club. Im pretty sure he does.

And what if he does? It's hardly unusual in the annals of history for somebody who owns a business (lest we forget, he does own the business, he isn't just renting it off forum members) to employ their children in some capacity or other. He may want them to take over at some point.  They might need a job. As long as they aren't playing centre forward, who gives a monkies?  We get far too involved in worrying about every aspect of the club. Not necessary... and didn't happen in my day.  Rhubarb rhubarb.

Even if it is nepotism of the worst kind, who cares? Doesn't affect what happens on the pitch. Doesn't affect my daily life, doesn't affect your daily life (unless you've been turned down for a  job). It almost smacks as if you're just searching / grasping for something to have a dig about.

For all we know this Joe might have unearthed some gems for Chris Evans and Mac to consider but they turned round and said sorry son, he's not been player of the year, he's not been a captain at his club and he's not been scouted by Aston Villa so we can't try and sign them. And if after that albentossa and Camara debacle the only foreigners you can look at are players in the UK

Totally agree. The difference in McClaren's case is that Joe is chief scout isn't he? and there has been serious questions asked about our recruitment recently. So, unless he's spotting talent and his "realistic" recommendations are being ignored, he needs to face up to the cricism.

To be fair to Joe it was only announced just before christmas that he had returned to the club as chief scout. So he has only been here for around 3 months.

Fair point. Only right we should give him a reasonable chance. I'd forgotten he was appointed that recently.
