7 hours and he's out. He's ok,which is the main thing.

Find out some more when we can.

He looks pretty mashed up as expected.

I'll get a picture on when I can.

Glad he is ok John, as has already been said, hope he has speedy recovery.

Puts all our whingeing about football into perspective.

Here's to a speedy recovery (to you both).

First thing he asked me,

"Any Rotherham tickets Dad?":whistle::blink:

We've just got out of the hospital and come for a pint...bloody hell it's going to taste good.

Tis but a mere scratch!! ?

Seriously, I can't imagine what you've been through, and you must be very proud of his bravery.

Really hope it's the start now and he recovers quickly!

Best wishes.

Thanks mate and yes very proud.

I couldn't take a fraction of what Joel's been through.

Easy for us,we just have to make sure he doesn't catch us crying.

Fingers crossed this has done the trick.

Cheers

Your family's courage and unity in the face of adversity does you all great credit, it should serve as a lesson to us all.

I'm keeping everything crossed for a rapid and thorough recovery.

All the courage is with him.

Thanks for the support.

It takes courage to stay strong and keep everything going when experiencing what you coneheads are going through - your courage is giving Joel his and vice versa.

Its a team game mate and it looks from here like your all pulling together.

Just a quick note then I can leave this and hopefully move on.

Joel is back home now, amazing really.

Surgery has gone better than we could have hoped although the next few weeks are crucial.

He will go back to Brum every tuesday and Thursday for the next few weeks for follow up and scans. If there is no problem he will move onto 6 monthly MRI's for life.

His scalp was reconstructed by an ex miltary surgeon(James Baden)who used shark skin to replace the flap they grafted in his ear canal,to replace the fat and diseased bone which was drilled out.

When they did the surgery he was so riddled with infection/disease that the consultant termed it as a time bomb waiting to go off.

He's rough but doing well.

Many thanks from our family and from Joel for the lovely messages and support. I've rattled on enough so i'll leave you in peace.

If any of you see us in the East Stand upper next year please say hello.

Cheers

John,Joel and family.
