Jesus Christ it was a tongue in cheek comment, who pissed on your cornflakes this morning?

It was simply in reply to Blackman (3mil) and Anya (4mil) being linked away despite barely getting a chance here.

As pointed out previously, Anya can't even play for another side this season. I think the nature of my posts suggests it wasn't exactly a serious, dig at the club, or any player.

how do people know it's tongue in cheek? It's mischief making and not everyone is clever enough to make up their own minds. What you end up with it people moaning, groaning and thinking they have an axe to grind with people at the club, when the truth is that Derby are no different to any other club and don't deserve to be singled out for criticism for something that is the norm, especially from someone posing as a fan/supporter.

I think it'll be more helpful to post your opinions, than post tongue in cheek comments which fuel the fires.

I would definitely not sell anya! He can play right back, left back, left wing, right wing, maybe striker. Selling him would be ridiculous. He provides us with versatility and can fill in if we are short on numbers. Personally he is one of our most important players. It just shows that how ollsson got injured as well as lowe and we would have had to have put an inexperienced Hanson at left back. His age just shows his ability and experience

I get your point about his versatility but he is nowhere near one of our most important players. In order of importance he probably wouldn't even make the top 15 most important players on the club's books.

I compared signing players to buying food when you're drunk on a night out... 7 people liked the post so they must have seen the funny side of it.

I wasn't 'mischief making' and I'd say I'm pretty positive in the way that I post. Definitely no intention to moan, encourage moaning or fuel the fire of the handful of moaners who aren't happy unless they have something to complain about.

Sorry but I disagree. He gives cover for pretty much every outfield position.

£7mil worth of players just being shipped out after bringing nothing to the side then.

Some of our transfer policy reminds me of my takeaway buying policy when I'm off my face after a night out. I get home, think why the **** did buy this and then chuck it in the bin in the morning.

If your post isn't serious what is the point of it? its just moan moan moan  from some.

It's not like you have any evidence in this writing on bog paper.

So your point is if it's not serious, don't bother? Your life must be exciting.

Covers out field positions where we already have cover, and isn't a starter in a single one of them. Also utility doesn't equal importance. By your logic you could argue that Hanson is 'one of the most important players in the squad'. Anya is in fact quite expendable.

Ok fair enough, you have your opinion and I have mine

Why ever don't you like Derby County being called County? It's the name of the club from way before you were on the scene (and even before I was).

Derby County FC. It's on everything to do with the club. ?

Who on earth has ever called the Rams "County"?  I've never heard any Derby fan say "County" and I've been supporting us since my first match just before we got relegated to the old Third Division North.  :p

So? Does that make him our most important player? We need will hughes, Tom ince, Richard Keogh , Scott Carson, Alex Pearce. We need specialist full backs, christie , Baird, forsyth, Lowe. We need george thorne, if not then de sart or bradley Johnson. We need another midfield player butterfield or Bryson. Johnny russell' stats for goals and assists are way better than anyas. We need someone who can score goals and Darren bent is our man at the moment.. Chris Martin also if he comes back , and nugent too. So that's 18 players who are more important than Anya.

Far be it from me to question the Sun, but FIFA rules state -

3.
Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season.
During this period, the player is only eligible to play official matches for
two clubs. As an exception to this rule, a player moving between two clubs
belonging to associations with overlapping seasons (i.e. start of the season in
summer/autumn as opposed to winter/spring) may be eligible to play in official
matches for a third club during the relevant season, provided he has fully
complied with his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs. Equally,
the provisions relating to the registration periods (article 6) as well as to the
minimum length of a contract (article 18 paragraph 2) must be respected.

Ok that's your opinion. I never said that we didn't already have cover in those positions. I merely stated that he can cover most outfield positions

I can't see us letting Anya go. I do think we paid a little over the odds on him, but, I do think he has the ability to become a vital player for us - even if not the best player. He can cover so many positions with competence at this level, which provides the lack of need on the bench for players to simply be there to cover certain positions.

He doesn't have the ability of a £4m player, and I would probably accept a bid at that amount. However, he definitely adds to the squad.

Blackman, I would like to see more of. I want to see him when he's at his best. He came into the side at the wrong time, played under the wrong managers, and has been injured since Mac has been back. I definitely think he has the ability to change people's opinions.

Bogle, on the basis of what I've heard and bits I've seen, I would like to see us give him a chance. I would suggest our squad and financial position means we should be looking at young players who could improve in a better team and increase in value. We have largely invested in players who, even if they had lived up to their billing, would have been difficult to sell for more than we bought them.

To go back to your Southampton rebuttal. They mostly get it right where as we've mostly got it wrong and are now shoehorning players into positions they're not used to/giving multi million pound players 5 minutes here and there.

Lets at teams who have sensible transfer policies/at least sign players to suit their systems. Leeds, Wednesday, Newcastle, Brentford to name a few who don't have multi million pound players sat twiddling their thumbs.

Yeah Newcastle with their sensible transfers. They spent about £80m last year, mostly on dross, and got relegated. They've been very lucky to get about the same back in selling players and have hoovered up loads of the best talent and have easily the best squad in the league and probably in Chamionship history. I was reading earlier how masterful of Benitez it was in signing Murphy. Like signing one one of the highest scorers in the division takes a genius.

And you state they don't have multi-million pound players twiddling their thumbs, what about Mitrovic, Tiote? I'm sure there's others.
