If Mings is not available can we please move on to another left back?

Anya is a stopgap so unless Olssen (preferably Lowe) is fit we need a left back this week.

Not having one not only makes us weak defensively it also reduces the effectiveness of the left winger.

Agreed. Ollson and Anya already ruled out of Saturday.

We must have known since they were injured that Ollson, Lowe and Anya are going to be out for a bit.

I think its poor from us that we haven't bought in a left back on loan yet.

Our activity has been a bit strange to be honest.

We needed 2 quality full backs, have done for about 6 transfer windows.

We publicly bid for Lansbury and allegedly bid 4 million for Sako, suggesting there is money to spend, but have gone for a bargain in Nugent and a loan signing.  We are even trying to flog Russell.

Im not expecting any more major signings this window.

Maybe there isn't one available for loan that we like enough to take on loan till the end of the season...? Or the fee and wage package being suggested is too much for what we want, when we have 2 LB's and an able third recovering?

So in world football there is not a single left back available for loan that is better option than Jamie Hanson?

And we've not been able to find one for 3 weeks?

There's probably several, with lots of factors putting us off - loan fee, wage, playing time, length of loan. Consider that we've got a LB and stand in LB (Anya) a week or 2 away, it might be viewed as not worth it.

Surely you understand the workings of a transfer/loan deal. And if there's a player out there willing to come and be in competition with 3 other LBs, with a club not demanding any loan fee or wages...is he really that good?

I don't think Hanson is the answer there at all, and if there is a better LB available bring them in. But we have so many options there already not currently out for an extended period of time

I thought Anya and Olsson were both expected back for the Leeds game leave alone Reading. So no it looks like theyve been delayed, which is worrying as these were two big games.

Are we actively trying to sell Russell? Have the club confirmed this?

Billy Davies always talked in the third person, stop it, now!

So you are Billy Davies? Anyway, we have six players who can play full back , five of them have played full back for their countries plus Max Lowe who is an outstanding prospect. It's just desperately unlucky that five of them are out injured at the moment. If we can get someone on loan fine but anyone coming in would know they are just a short term fix. What's ashley Cole doing these days?

Every game in which we play without a regular left back will be a struggle.

Anya is a winger who can play there, in much the same way Baird could play centre forward.

I don't rate Olssen even when he's fit.

Forsyth and Lowe will be back in time but we need a string of wins.
