Didn't do that bad v Forest last season, you can't expect a 35 year old next month to continue playing week in week out, especially at full back coming up against pacey wingers.

Really don't rate Hanson at FB and there lies the problem we have.

Lowe us like glass always injured.

Forsyth out for the season and a Olsson not fit yet with hammy.

Anya out injured

Baird is the only option but he is a RB primarily and is covering Christie who is out injured

I suppose it has to be Hanson at LB .

That fills me with fear against WBA.

Only other option is Stabana at RB and move Baird to LB or play 3 at the back Keogh, Shackell and Pearce.

We only drew against Wigan - i am sure the fringe players would have done that - or maybe won it - as you are giving them a chance and they want to prove themselves.

But generally agree - Norwich have a better and bigger squad

We have some injuries...so lets get back to the transfer talk!!

When is Sako, Lansbury, Wisdom signing!!!

I don't disagree with any of that, my problem especially with Baird is we're expecting too much from him and whilst Hanson is a less than ideal option we have to rotate. You can't keep playing your best team regardless.

After WBA we have 2 games against top 6 sides which we are 5 and 6 points behind already, these are big games for us.

I get your point now fair enough  .

We are in a sorry position in the FB areas due to injuries which is really bad luck.

I suppose McClaren will come up with the answers as he has so far .

Im thinking a mix of fringe with EXPERIENCED.. be alright for me

Our fringe are experienced to be fair, West Brom are doing well this season and a full strength first team would find it tough to come away with anything. With no recognised left back, one CM we're already facing a long afternoon.

I get people love the cup and those that are going are looking to see a full strength Derby side giving it their all, I don't want to see us lose but there's a bigger picture beyond this game.

Leeds have Cambridge, I would be surprised if they field strong side.

Lose to them that's and we're 8 points behind them.

I realise resting players doesn't guarantee avoiding defeat but let's give ourselves the best possible chance. Shackell, Weimann, Vydra, Bryson, Camara, plenty of experience there to bring in some younger players.

Keep a decent core of the first team (Carson, Keogh, Johnson, Ince) complemented by some of the second string starting (Shacks, Bryso, Camara) and a couple of youth teamers either starting or coming on. Best possible balance.

More importantly - Is there going to be a 'Covent Garden-esque' spot in the centre of Brum for a pre-match beer and sing song? or are most rams fans heading straight to West Bromwich?

Of course,

I've been chatting with a couple geordie's on twitter this week and they have said we should all meet in the city centre Weatherspoons to have a good laugh.

Doing both at the same time is worrying.;)

Wholesale changes please. I'm with David on this one(never thought I'd say that). Need to rest up for the league. Even with our best team I would very, very highly doubt that we'd beat west brom in their current form.

                         Mitchell

Stabana  Rawson    Shackell    Baird(can't think of anyone else)

                           Hanson

                     Bryson         Guy

           Camara        Vernam          Weimann

What is our heaviest ever defeat in the FA Cup...just out of interest?????
