George Thorne is the biggest liability at this club unfortunately...... also really don't get the clamour about him..... think we as fans have over egged how good he was.

More than happy with BJ in his position, as some alluded too, it's saved his Derby career and possibly extended it.

If and when Thorne does come back you can't rely on him to play 10 games on spin anymore.

At the 13/14 Playoff Final, he was the best player on the pitch bar none. His defensive side fits brilliantly into McClaren's style of play and his passing for the majority of the time is sublime. He's class.

He's just been ridiculously unlucky with injuries. Both ACL's, they're freak injuries that can't be repeated, to do both in such a short space of time is stupidly bad luck. Then another freak leg break in May. Pure bad luck, was never to do with his fitness, genuinely don't even think he's injury prone, just had poor, poor luck.

Speaking as someone who has dislocated a kneecap and ligaments, I was told by a specialist that certain people are more prone to certain knee injuries. It is partly to do with the structure of the bone formation in some people's hips and how the pressure gets transferred down the legs and onto the knees. An impact can then have a disproprtionate effect in some people to others.

I don't understand it but I was basically told I had the perfect hip formation to cause knee problems. And even after getting my knee fixed I had loads of problems when running. I ended up taking up cycling.

Unfortunately some players regardless of their ability have not got the physicality to play the game .George unfortunately is made of glass along with many others with talent but blighted by injuries .

Hope I'm wrong but as Mafiabob says you will not get many consecutive games out of him ,massive shame great player.

I'm not liking that your knees are trouble, but I remember this being said about GT at the time he did his second ACL.

Guess I can't argue with a specialist...

It's sort of irrelevant anyway, as all we are hoping for now is that hopefully he'll have no further injuries and he can get a good run of fitness and form going, because he deserves it after so many setbacks.

He's a brilliant player, PL quality on his day, and he's an asset to this team, him staying injury free for the forseeable future is nothing but good news for us because as I said in the last post, he's class.

I've been a Lansbury fan since he was a youngster at Arsenal and I can see why we are interested in him, I think people are doing him disservice because he plays for Forest. He'd slot in nicely on the left side of the midfield three alongside Hughes and Johnson. He's a combination of the two in that he can play the dirty game when it needs to be done or play technically well like he did against Barnsley away and I think he'd be what Bryson in 13/14 was for us, which his goal stats from this season so far back up so far, having scored more than all of our midfielders put together in a much weaker team. Every time I've watched Forest this season he has glued their midfield together and they look rather spineless without him. I do like Butterfield but I don't think he has played to his potential so far this season, it's quite clear that not scoring so far this season is playing on his mind, which doesn't help when Colin Gibson reminds him of that every time he interviews him so I approve of this potential deal for Lansbury.

Yeah... but he's still a bellend isn't he?

Be honest. He's a whining, play acting, pantomime worthy numpty.

We all know it.

Just like Robbie Savage but the difference would be that Lansbury's impact could be far more significant. Savage was looking for a final lucrative contract and we were daft enough to give it to him but Lansbury at 26 still has a potentially good career ahead of him.

I'm on board if he just changes his whole personality

What's happening with the forest takeover? I thought this was to be done and dusted before Christmas? And Lansbury's new deal with forest was dependent on the club takeover? Mind you with forest in free fall would Lansbury even sign a  New contract if it was offered?
