Actually the wham stuff was a guilty pleasure for me, not so keen on his solo stuff.

His stuff is something i could happily listen to if on the radio, or in someones house etc...but i cant think of one song that i really really liked. but cant think of one i hated. Clearly talented just not everyones cup of tea. Very sad at 53 though. RIP.

The boom in stars in TV, film and music from the 1960s onwards means there's a bigger pool of public figures that are well-known than ever before, and we're at the point now where their lifestyles are catching up with them. It's sad, but unfortunately, these public figures aren't immortal. 53. No age. Perfectly summed up. Going to the trend from now I guess. Maybe healthier lifestyles will help, but media attention is going to put more stars of every decade in focus. Wasn't a massive fan, 53 is no age mind. Tony Le Mesmer
Apparently downloads of George Michael songs have gone through the roof since he died. Didn't people like his stuff when he was alive then? Very strange.
