It's good in a plastic cup, half-buried in the garden, to get rid of slugs. Gritstone Ram

Cheers, I'll have a look for those next time I go. Not really tried fruit beers before but I'll give them a go. The missus prefers a dark ale. She was very fond of the innis and gunn one which I've noticed are on offer too. Although they'd none in the other day unfortunately.

The Bacchus Kriek is good too, but like all fruit beers, I think they are better on a hot, sunny day. Steve How Hard?

German beers: 4 x Paulaner Salvator 50 cl I don't want to appear overly grumpy Eddy, but I hope that stuff tastes better than the regular Paulaner "paint stripper"? It's one of the most horrible "chemical" tasting beers I've ever had the misfortune to drink. Rivaled only by Pfungstädter, (another horrible brew from near Darmstadt). I've just opened an Aldi £1.49 bottle of "Proper Job" Cornish IPA (5.5% from St. Austell Brewery), and very pleasant it is too, nice and hoppy. ? You'll never know until you try it - but I'm confident that you will be pleasantly surprised. Paulaner Salvator is not a weissbier but a doppelbock, dark, heavy, malty with beautiful chocolate/caramel notes. Strong by German standards (outside of Eisbocks, of course) at 7.9% and eminently quaffable. I do like Proper Job (in fact there isn't a St Austell beer I don't like) but this stuff is world class and there is no comparison.
