David
Mark O'Brien has been handed a welcome boost as he continues his recovery from heart surgery with a three-and-a-half-year professional contract. The 17-year-old appreciates the support that the club has given him and is delighted to have signed his first professional contract. "I'm delighted to sign professional terms, and I want to thank the club for standing by me and also putting their faith in me with the length of contract I've signed. The security of this contract has given me a great deal of confidence and I cannot wait to get back in the New Year and start to get myself fit again." O'Brien is expected to return to action early next year and the Irish youngster then hopes to repay the faith that Nigel Clough has put in him, and the Rams boss has already said that the defender would be in his first-team plans if he was fit. http://www.derby.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=178610
