Their purpose is to reproduce and they only live for 10-15 days in the crane fly stage. Very intelligent and spoke excellent English, but was unsure of certain things that are common knowledge to the indigenous Brits, like nettles. He told her that they only sting when there's an 'R' in the month. It being June, she grasped one. It didn't make for immediate marital harmony.
