Clemence would have got you promoted if you stuck with him.

PL isn't all that anyway..

Not a ******* chance. We'd have finished mid table, he ran out of ideas and lucky individual bits of skill. Players didn't want to play for him that much either, the contrast in preseason photos and fitness levels is striking. He's just a managers tea boy.

According to SSN, clement was offered but turned down a role on sams team....

Be interesting one day to reflect on which one of the two dodges a bullet. ...

That's not fair at all on Clement. It may not have worked out for him as manager but he is quite clearly a magnificent coach. If the rumour for his sacking is correct then he wasn't even sacked for footballing reasons. He wouldn't keep getting these big jobs around Europe if he was average. Of course he would have been an asset to the England team. He'd at least have a clue about foreign football and would have brought along his knowledge because quite frankly Sam Allardyce's head is in a bubble thinking that football doesn't exist outside of England. For all of Hodgson's failings, he at least knew about foreign tactics and the way other countries went about things having managed in different countries unlike Sam Allardyce who is very ignorant of foreign football.

He gets jobs because he's ancelottis trusted lieutenant,  like rui faria is to Mourinho.

Obviously his coaching magnificence didn't quite extend to understanding the demands of the championship and how to get the best out of players at that level,  at least not judging by many of the detailed observations on here.

At least you could credit Sam with some self awareness of his own limitations in seeking him out in the first place. If this story is true then wonder why clement turned it down. Is his personal stock really so great? If Sam is really looking for broader horizons then we should see that by who he turns to next.

Is that the same Sam Allardyce who went over to America and came back with many revolutionary ideas and techniques that are still widely used today?

Maybe it is you that is ignorant to what Sam Allardyce has actually done in his career?
