Cisse
Just saw a clip at half time about hooligans trashing the town. Anyone from this forum there we could spot ?

uttoxram75
I know some who are there and they are saying that the England fans have been attacked by Russians then treated with extreme force by the French police when they retaliate. Obviously, i'm not saying the English are angels, far from it, there's been loads of anti-Europe, anti-French,anti- german, anti-muslim, and anti-Irish songs going on but, in the main, the fans have not started the fighting and smaller groups of English have been attacked without provocation. When the English fight back the police then move in and use tear gas and batons against them. I suppose the reputation causes the police to act differently to the English fans so the fans get the feeling that the police turn a blind eye when its us being attacked but react like Robocop when we defend or retaliate. Whatever, its very, very predictable!

SillyBilly
Really feel sorry for the innocents caught up in this, very ugly scenes inside the stadium at the end. Hope people get back safely. English hooliganism has changed from the organised brawling to the "lads culture". While I am not condoning these groups who have far too much to drink and throw chairs around, they simply aren't the equivalent of the type who are training in fight camps in forests as if its a sport. Seeing balaclava clad blokes (potentially armed with knives) charging at largely innocent fans is a different level of disgusting behaviour. I hope the Russians get severely hit for this. It is getting to the stage where you question why any reasonable person would want to watch England in a major tournament. You will be treated like a hooligan or you'll be the target of some neo nazi ultra who thinks you're up for it because you're English...

Cisse
I can't help wondering what's wrong with football fans. The ice hockey World Championship just ended a couple of weeks ago and there were plenty of the same countries there that now are in France. Regardless of country the ice hockey tournament is played the fans get along fine and even spend a lot of time with other fans from different countries. No problems even given the fact that there are countries that have been in wars against each other.

Only in Nottingham does the ice hockey get bigger crowds than football...

The thing is the fans in general are fighting more in football matches and tournaments than in ice hockey. Even Russians and Czechs get along in ice hockey games and usually they hate each other. But give the players a football and you have a riot in your hands.

Rev
I just don't understand what you gain out of sausageting someone who's already incapacitated from a previous attack? Cowardly ********, who hide their inadequacies from running with a mob, and wouldn't be such a **** 1 on 1. Still, Russia is a great place to hold the next world cup, according to FIFA execs secret bank accounts.

ketteringram
Whatever about the stuff in and around the town. Inside the stadium, looks like it was a total shambles. Fortunate that it didn't end up something like Heysal.
