Daily Mail 17th May;

'Derby and Hull are showing an interest in Victor Anichebe who is leaving West Bromwich Albion. The 28 year old striker is out of contract next month'.

Probably lazy journalism.

Weren't we linked with him on loan earlier on in the season?

Think he didn't fancy dropping a league.

Please no. The fact that Victor Anichebe has played his entire career at Premier League level is bizarre enough to make me think that I live in my own version of the Trueman Show and events are being manipulated by unseen forces.

We have no manager and we are after players ???, we dropped a ******* with that at the start of this season before Clement came.

If there is any truth in the various players interest being bandied around, then who every is doing it should %%%% off.

That's a great idea... Our entire scouting system should have just gone on holiday as soon as Clement was sacked up until the point when we hire a new manager

Not sure what's worse... you believing there's a shred of truth in any of this garbage, or the fact you're getting wound up by it.

Some players are not playing as well as they were before they came to us.

Any obvious explanations?

1. played out of position

2. Not given a chance to prove themselves

3. Loss of confidence

4.

4. Not good enough?

4. The 'bar is not set high enough'. In other words a lack of expectation by the coach or lack of coach credibility. Culturally it appears a little too nice and comfortable at Derby- if we think Pearson (had he been at Derby) would not have let Saturday happen like it did- then we can deduce it is a coach/manager issue.

5. Lack of fitness.

6. And, it has to be asked; why would newly promoted Norwich sell Johnson? Can only be because they didn't believe him to be good enough for prem- not just the £6m fee.

I actually rate him. There was one spell when he was at Everton when he was unplayable can't remember what season though. He's never had a chance to be consistantly in the first team. He's big, quick and strong and an international, must be a reason WBA paid £6mil.
