Bris Vegas
No way will Derby get autos next year. Not with Brighton, Norwich and Newcastle about. Villa won't be a threat, but either Hull or Sheff Wed will go again. This was the season to go up. Playoffs our best hope next year.

How can you predict what them teams are going to do before you even know who is going to play for them?! Don't forget 5 months ago you told us all that Sheffield Wednesday were not good enough to finish in the top 10...

Doesn't take a genius to work out that Norwich and Newcastle are going to do well next season.

I see what you mean Bris, but you make sweeping statements all the time. A few weeks ago you were saying we weren't going to make the play-off's this season, now you're saying we won't make autos next year before this season's even over. Who'd have put Brighton down as auto contenders this time last year? I'm not sure we'll get autos next year but I'd never say there's no way we'll get them. Just pointing out it's silly trying to tell people who will be in the autos in 12 months time.

We have no permanent manager, a woeful recruitment team, a bloated and completely unbalanced squad and now what appears little leeway in terms of potential signings. What makes you think we will all of a sudden be 10+ points better next season? Not going to happen.

Yet, sure as eggs is eggs, three teams still get promoted the next season, how strange.

Newcastle and Norwich will be starting the season miles ahead of us. And there is little we can do between now and August to rectify that, thanks to our owner spending massive sums on bog average players and thus restricting our ability to make important additions this summer. We have little leeway in terms of potential expenditure this summer. Our owner made sure of that by spashing a potential three year budget on average players in the space of two transfer windows. Unless we sell Hughes this summer, we won't be able to recoup enough to make a big enough difference to gain autos next season. We're already short, and we have practically no leeway in terms of squad changes. Nobody is going to be daft enough to spend £5m on the likes of Ince, Johnson, Butterfield etc.
