Wolfie
Have I missed a news story or something?. Checking my online banking this morning, I've received a payment from Scottish Power for about £350. I have been a customer of theirs in the past (via Sainsburys energy I think) but not for a few years & have no idea where it's come from. Any ideas?. It's not the first time either. Last summer I received a mystery payment of about £900 & the only reference was that it came from Bootle. No amount of googling located the source or reason for it & it's never been queried. I'm not normally bad with money & do keep an eye on thngs, so these payments are just weird. Maybe I'm being "looked after" by someone in secret?. SaintRam
Being "looked after" by someone in secret usually constitutes more than that to be honest
Stive Pesley
Bootle is the Tax Office isn't it? Could have been a tax rebate? Scottish Power could have been a refund for an overpaid account years ago. Apparently this is a common problem and OFGEN have been forcing energy companies to refund overpaid closed accounts (rather than operating a "don't ask, don't get" policy which is how they have always played it)
