DenbyRam
If going by train the usual route via London Bridge Station won't be possible due to engineering works. Three alternate routes: 1. Tube (Victoria Line) to Victoria, then train direct to Charlton. 2. Train (Thameslink) from St Pancras to Blackfriars, change onto train to Lewisham, change there for Charlton. 3. Tube (Northern Line) to London Bridge, change to Jubilee Line to North Greenwich, then pick up a bus to Charlton.
Gritty
I live very near Charlton. 1. The Victoria route would take quite a long time. I wouldn't do that 2. Would be absolutely fine if you don't mind multiple changes 3. Is probably best in my view. North Greenwich is the station at the O2 so you get loads of restaurants etc there if you want to get there early. It's around a 2 mile walk from North Greenwich so you could walk once you got there and there'll also be loads of taxis if buses look full
Zag zig
Advice anyone please. Going to park at Watford and catch the fast train in, which I think goes to Euston? So switch there for Victoria and then the train to Charlton. Does that sound right heading from Watford station?

Then up to the train station and get train to Charlton. It's 30 minutes from there.
Zag zig
Thought that was about the right route. Like parking at Watford and doing the fast trains in, dead handy for M1 and no driving hassle around London. Thanks Denby
DEL
I'll find the way to get there anyway.
londonbridgeram
As I put on the other post. My bet would be: get the Jubilee line from London Bridge to North Greenwich (the dome/O2). From there to The Pilot pub (where'll be plenty of London Rams - just saying). From there I reckon a good 20/25 minutes walk or there are regular buses that take you to the ground. Time to perfection Denby, just on fast train back 5 mins from Watford, heading for the Toby carvery just off junction 5 to fill up, back up motorway and local. Away days don't come much better.
