IlsonDerby
It dawned on me yesterday that I actually felt nothing when Cardiff scored their second. I switched the radio off and went back to Sky Sports News and my bet365 account. That's the most upsetting thing about this season. I've had a season ticket for the last 13 years and so I've seen some sh1te football and some sh1te players but I've never felt as disconnected from my club as I do now. It's hard to explain it. I'm infuriated by the current regime - not because of footballing reasons but because I'm falling out of love with my club. A club that I would defend to the hilt, a club that I could support unconditionally based on absolutely nothing at all except for pride and and actually liking our players. I don't like our squad of under achievers any more. Give me back simpler times with no expectations and any win was enjoyable because we just didn't expect it. Give me back that team that you knew were gonna work harder than the opposition every game and that a lack of quality would be the reason for our loss. I can accept not having the quality. I can enjoy being plucky underdogs. I simply cannot enjoy being overpaid, hated by everyone else in football and still fxcking useless. I want to care about my club. I want to enjoy supporting my club. This isn't the best way to feel 3 days after parting with near £400 for next years ST. The only reason I've done it is because I know there'll be that renewed sense of blind optimism come August. I just hope the decisions made during the summer are inspiring. MackworthRamIsGod
It's a strange situation, we are in a playoff place and could still do a QPR and fluke promotion, unfortunately we as Derby fans aren't used to that type of luck. Two seasons now we have talked about promotion and showed clear signs of going for it, only for 2 seasons of collapsing in a crazy way. Hearing opposition fans singing "it's happening again" is painful, hearing Darren Waffel butcher his way through an interview is painful and watching Blackman pull on a derby shirt is painful. There is light at the end of this tunnel though! We have made more mistakes this season in managerial appointments, managerial sackings, caretaker appointments and player recruitments that I don't think we can make any more mistakes. I expect Mel will have sat down these last couple of weeks and thought "what a silly boy I have been" and hopefully will have asked big Sam to help him get out of this mess. Im expecting a positive managerial appointment in the summer and someone who will make a couple of key signings, get shot of bad eggs like shackell and start again next season. Could be worse, you could support forest.
SIWY
I honestly just wish the season could end so we could appoint a new manager and start from fresh in August. It's very depressing now but I'm sure once we've appointed a manager and sorted the team out I'll be a bit more optimistic.
King Kevin
Two balanced sensible posts, I think a lot of Derby fans feel this way there is no way we will make the play off's ,I watched the Burnley players celebrating their equaliser on the news.Last time I saw that sort of passion from the Derby team was the semi against Brighton and them days are long gone. Something amiss at the club and at some stage Mel has to get a strong character in and let he get on with it.
Rosythram
The issue will be, how much confidence do we have as supporters that a manager will be appointed who actually has the nouce to sort this debacle out!
CheltenhamRam
Our infrastructure and core support will ensure nothing silly happens. Despite some awful decisions already alluded to we have people with good intentions running the club (MM). A strong managerial appointment, returns to fitness for Hughes (and GT), axe some of the dross we've signed whilst trying to integrate those with potential (Weimann for example) and pre-season will be pretty good. Nice idea re Rush too.

Ewe Ram
I've not lost that loving feeling for the club but I have with the fans. How some dare rip it out of forest fans when they behave as they do is ridiculous. Booing our team, childish comments and name calling on social media and saying they won't renew season tickets until they get a manager who will guarantee something (when there's no guarantees in football) has made them look like classless, clueless fools. What you have described isn't out of the ordinary... Every single club has fans that do that. As a majority Derby fans are full of class and are definitely not fools

IlsonDerby
Just now, eddie said: I felt nothing and I was there. Does it get any sadder than that? I just want a team full of heart. I know I'll get battered and reminded of Sammon etc having all the work ethic in the world but no ability but honestly some of the signings this season make Sammon look like a bloody bargain! Ambitious
The fans have made this season a lot worse than it should have been. It happened last season too. Last season we booed when we were third in the league. This season we've kicked and screamed because the play offs aren't good enough. The atmosphere this season has been poisiounous. It will change when the crowds drop and Mel stops throwing money around and we go back to looking at freebies and loan players. At that point, I imagine some fans won't feel like they have a privilege to watch a top six Championship side and not turn up or just enjoy Derby for what it is - a local team. Jayram
The feeling I have is one of disillusionment with the current chairman. I know he's a Derby fan and a local lad but I do not have any faith in him at all. His decision making this season, both in terms of managerial appointments and player purchases has been appalling. Frankly I don't trust him not to continue to make poor decisions and I worry that we will not be able to appoint the right calibre of manager to take the club forward. The fans have every right to be unhappy - a decent managerial appointment last summer and a little bit of thought before splashing the cash and we could have been a real force in this league. A golden opportunity has been wasted this season and I for one just want the campaign to end as quickly as possible. I don't blame Wassall for what has happened: how could he say no to the job, but its plaln to see that he is totally out of his depth and too close to the owner to be his own man. Morris needs to find some humility, admit that he got it wrong this season, pledge to get a quality manager in (not a money grabbing shyster like Redknapp) and leave them to get on with the job. At that point, I imagine some fans won't feel like they have a privilege to watch a top six Championship side and not turn up or just enjoy Derby for what it is - a local team. why shouldn't the fans be disappointed with this season? The statement that the play offs aren't good enough (I'd disagree with this I'd say that as long as we were playing well the play offs would be great but seeing as we are not playing well I'd rather save the embarrassment and fall short of the play offs but I understand why some fans and a lot of the media think that play offs are not good enough) stems from the fact we've spent £25million on playing staff. That is staggering and we literally have gone backwards in terms of playing style. Had Derby spent around 8/9m this season and the same things were happening I'm sure people would be more open to accepting play offs as a realistic target but the money spent has been eye watering. The facts are: We have less key injuries than last season. The form is as awful as the end of last season even after £25m being spunked on the squad. My opinions are: A head coach system clearly doesn't work without the quality around them ie brilliant recruitment! Our chairman gave up on the season the minute he sacked somebody without having a REAL solution Our squad is bloated with players that don't suit a particular system. Any particular system. For this reason alone the recruitment side of the club should be scrapped and started again from scratch.
Jonesy90
I too share this sense of no connection, and when I'm sat here watching the Leicester game, there is a part of me that just wants to work out what their magic formula is. Although I've moaned about renewing my season ticket next year, I still have trust in Sam Rush to make the right appointment for the club in the summer. Don't expect a big marquee name, or a work-in-progress manager - we need a steady character to keep this ship going on its path to glory! Who that manager is? No idea - I don't think he exists just yet.
toddy
I read some shitte on here but " I blame the fans" tops the lot. Yeah, it's the fans that pick the team, it's the fans that pick the formations, it's the fans that coach the players, its the fans do the HT talk, it's the fans which is the reason we can only managed on shot on target, it's the fans that lose us the games! Muppetry of the highest order!
