Just make a long weekend of it and let @Mostyn6's Mrs dog sit - she desperate for a puppy apparently.

Yeah we might do - hasn't Mostyns Mrs got enough on her plate already?

Well now it is a monday - we'll have to cancel the hotels we booked and the kennels for the dogs - thanks sky.

We held on and held on, assuming that Sky would screw things up for us as usual. Yep - nailed on. So I've just checked my usual hotel for a 4 day stay - normally about £300. A cool grand.

No Brighton for us this year, unfortunately.

No trains from Brighton or Lewes to Falmer that day due to railworks. Disaster for travel unless they change that.

Edit: No railworks announced but no trains showing up on National Rail Enquiries website. Hopefully it's just a case of not having scheduled the trains yet then.. suspect we'll find out soon.

Just booked ours for the Sunday night, 60 quid a room, only the travelodge mind.  For the Saturday night we were struggling for anything under 200 a night

Ditto. But on the plus more time to check out the exciting night life down there, do they have W.M.C's in Brighton?

I'm in the YHA on the seafront (yes at my age). Looks as good as a boutique hotel and has excellent reviews.

Thanks. I am an idiot and never thought of going down on the Sunday. We got in our usual place for 2 nights (coming back Tuesday) for £130. Good Wetherspoons up the road too. Also, Sussex are at home v Leicestershire on the Sunday, and the ground is only 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

Hotel booked (Langfords)

Eddie, if you stay at hotels that can charge a grand for a four night stay you're far too posh for this forum :)

The problem was, the only room available for the whole 4 days was a suite - which is way out of my league. Cricket sunday, footy monday, home tuesday. That'll do.
