I think a lot of you are very nasty men.  Made a bad pass (or was he caught out of position) in one of the early games of the season (when everything was quite scrappy) and he then got scapegoated thereafter. Good Pro - deserved better support than he got. Hope he and his wife find a bit of human warmth down here in these civilised parts.

Baird yes, Shotton no. Jan loans cant have recall option IIRC, emergency loans can as can loans done in the summer window

but Shottin could be an emergency loan as they can be dine in the transfer window too

53.3.2    Emergency and Youth Loans are permitted both during the Transfer Windows and, subject to the provisions of Regulation 53.3.4, also during a Closed Period between Clubs (or, as applicable, clubs) in membership of The Football League, The Premier League and The Football Conference (Premier Division).

Knew that was going to happen as soon as it was announced Keogh was captain.

Knew it was going to happen, when their lot gave him nigh on an heroes standing ovation, when he got subbed the other week. Let's hope they love him in the summer.

At 33 years old and not really going to improve much if at all, what's not to like if he hopefully does well, gets to play in the euro's because of playing regularly and fancies a move back to where he is loved.

Everybody could win, or in our case a get out jail card on one mans wages.

All this does is underline what a ridiculous decision it was to sign him and what an even more ridiculous decision it was to make him captain, something most Rams fans knewwhen it was done. Igor he wasn't. Shacks was the obvious choice back then, and we've suffered as a consequence of never having the right team leader. Clement should have been dismissed just on his captain selection skills alone. Utterly woeful.

Wasn't he bought before Shacks came in because Burnley were playing silly buggers as usual at the time?

Good he's rubbish ... Get in the bin along with claude davis, rob earnshaw and all the other past rubbish signings we've made in the past

what makes it more laughable is someone, scouted him, someone proposed him, clement said yes and mel signed him. At least 4-5 people all thought brilliant Chris Baird he's exactly what we need he's the answer ... He's garbage and pointless as a utility player as we have better back up in his position literally adds nothing to the squad

A lot of people are being overly harsh. There's nothing wrong with Baird as a utility player, but we signed him as a defensive midfielder and he's simply not equipped to play that role in our team. I know he plays there internationally and does a good job, but Northern Ireland's style is diametrically opposed to our own. They sit deep and rarely have more possession than the opposition, so Baird is essentially acting as a third centre back much of the time. Our game requires a distributor in that role who is comfortable on the ball and has a wide range of passing. Round hole, square peg.
