The Middlesbrough Crisis

If we're in crisis after no wins in our last 4 league games, is it not fair to assume based on the same logic that Middlesbrough are heading that way too?

Past two games, 0 points, 0 goals. I've seen some saying they'll race off and get over 100 points whilst just after Christmas it was us and Boro nailed on for promotion, whilst now top of the table Hull were out of it.

Proof this season is nowhere near over yet. Don't lose the faith.

Not really. They lost to the champions today.

Looks like the pressure of being top got to the them. Brighton are still the only team who have held 1st place for a significant number of games, everyone else has dropped it like a hot potato!

Still plenty of twists and turns left in this season!

It's not over - absolutely.

But our so called crisis has been ascribed to a whole load of factors not all of which are evident at boro.

Except they are 6 points ahead of us and have a game in hand after we play burnley

A whole 6 points with just 19 (20 for them) games to play?! No chance then, Just hand them promotion now and swap them for Villa.

Difference between Boro, Hull and the rest is the top two have the ability to string wins together. Derby haven't won four games on the bounce since the 2013/14 season.

Too many draws for Derby. Top two are nailed on.

Difference between Derby and Burnley, and the rest, is the ability to avoid defeat. Only two teams in the top six who haven't suffered back to back losses in the league.

You can spin this stuff however you like.

Draws are pointless in this league, as proven on so many occasions. The team that wins the most simply goes up, and right now we've dropped a multitude of points with draws.

We should have beaten Charlton, Leeds, Brighton and Birmingham (A) when we created more than enough chances to win. Those four draws was ultimately eight points dropped.

Even amid the disappointments against Birmingham (H), Boro (A), Leeds (H) etc. We simply failed to make the most of our dominance in other matches and let it slip.

The best teams in this league rarely do that, or not nearly enough as Derby.

Well there's no way we are going up if we don't find some team spirit and a settled side of our best 11 soon. No point thinking how many points we've thrown away now. No fight and no bravery on the ball, players scared to express themselves. Fans play a big part too. Boro will come good again, shown they can recover. Next few games are massive for us.

Hull seem to be firing on all cylinders after their short lived dip. Us and Boro are having our blip now, let's hope we come out first starting at Burnley on Monday night.

Hull are picking up wins when their performances don't merit 3 points and that's worrying for the other front runners.

We've done that a few times.

Completely agree Wolfie but as you know it's points that get you promotion.

According to some people all of our wins would fit into that category

I don't think winning 4 in a row is a precedent in gaining promotion. If you win three in a row and draw the fourth regularly enough, and don't suffer many losses, you'll be alright.
